A Trip Down Memory Lane (Klaus Mikaelson)

You had known Klaus for sometime now and you started to develop feelings towards 'the monster' as your friends put it.

When you first met Klaus you had no idea he was the Klaus Mikaelson everybody feared. He just seemed like a normal guy who was broken and lost. You knew a thing or two about being lost considering how you had a father that didn't love you and a mother who didn't care. You guys met in the Grill and he bought you a drink.

"Let buy you a drink," He said and you looked up to him.

"Y/N" You said and he sat down next to you at the bar.

"Such a lovely name for a beautiful girl." He said and held his hand. "Niklaus or Klaus" He said and you laughed shaking his hand.

"My friends really don't like you." You said and he chuckled.

"Friends with the Salvatore's I see?" He asked and you nodded taking a swig of my beer.

"Yes, but don't worry." You stood up and got your bag. "I don't judge someone before I get to know them." You said and walked out of the bar.

And you did get to know him a lot actually. When he finally opened up about his family and his father. You took a hold his hand told him your story as well. That's how this friendship all began.

By now you had followed him to New Orleans and helped him comes to terms with the fact that his was going to be a father. He was grateful to have you and you didn't now but what you felt for him, he felt for you. Just nether of you decide to tell the other for a number of reasons.

Today, Finn had placed a spell around his brothers and you. You were sleeping so didn't know it was a spell. You were in the car with your mom and dad driving down a highway. You looked out of the window and saw Damon chasing you. You remembered it and kept watching as the car moved down the road.

As for Klaus he saw you on the floor and yelled at Finn. Finn snapped his fingers and a tv appeared. It was tv that showed what was going on through your mind while you slept. Klaus watched silently while sitting next to you on the ground.

As the car drove by, you saw Klaus more and more and you smiled. The car came to a stop and you got out of the car.

Klaus saw himself, all the fights and laughs you two had. He looked down at you to see you smiling in your sleep. He looked back up at the tv to see you getting out of the car.

You got out and someone walked towards you. It was blurry but as they got closer it became more clear. "Klaus" You said and he stopped. He stood there with his hands behind his back. He became more clear to when you could actually see his face.

"Hello love." Klaus said with a smirk. You ran up and hugged him. He hugged you back and you smiled.

Finn snapped his fingers and Klaus smiled knowing that you cared about him that much. He looked at Finn.

"If this is what you're like with her. What are you without her?" Finn asked and with a snap of his fingers you woke up in your bed at the compound.

You thought it was just some weird dream. "Y/N! Y/N!" You heard Klaus yell. You ran to the courtyard and smiled. You ran down the stairs and hugged him. "Y/N, thank god you're ok." Klaus said and you pulled away.

"I love you." Klaus just looked into your eyes. "I love you and I always will. But I won't wait forever." You said and started to walk away.

Klaus grabbed you arm pulling you back and turning you around. You two were extremely close to each other. He stared at you and then roughly pressed his lips against yours. You kissed back and wrapped your arms around his neck as he placed his hands on your hips. You pulled away and he rested his head against yours.

"I love you too" Klaus took his hands off your hips. "But I can't let my demons touch you." Klaus said and walked away.

You stood there speechless. You soon smiled and touch your lips.

~A Few Months Later~

Well it's been a few months since the kiss happened and Klaus moved on. You still caught him looking at you different and staring at you here and there. But besides that everything was normal. You could still tell him everything and would die to protect him. You meant what you said by not waiting forever. Mainly because you didn't have forever and Klaus's ex/new girlfriend knew that.

You hated Aurora. But you loved Klaus and just wanted him to be happy. One day Aurora snapped and kidnapped you. She brought you to the old church and hurt you with words not weapons, even though they are the same thing.

"You don't love him" You said and she looked at you in shock.

"How would you know?" She snapped back.

"Because if you truly loved him. You would be happy for him even if he didn't love you like he used to." I said and it was silent again for a while.

"Ok, you wanted out of here alive?" You nodded. "I'll make you a deal, you tell me the most darkest moment in your life and I'll let you go. If not I get to turn you into a vampire." She said and you didn't want to be a vampire.

"Ok, deal" I said and she smiled.

"Wonderful, but do tell the truth." She said and I took a deep breath

"It was a couple of years ago. My friend, Caroline and I were going to a party. We had fun and all but a boy lead her to the woods. You can guess what was going on." She nodded waiting for you to continue with your story. "I heard Caroline scream and I saw a man with fangs trying to bit her. Something in me snapped and I found the closest branch. I ran up to him and pulled him off of her. I threw her behind me and I plunged the branch through his heart." She looked a little shock but she still smiled. "We promised never to talk about it again. My grandma happen to be in town and since she was the only one that cared about me in my whole family...I told her what happened. Then she told me what I was and what my family history was..." You said and she just stared at me.

"So what were you?" She asked and Klaus walked in.

"I suggest you let her go." Klaus said and you also saw Elijah as well. You smiled while Aurora grabbed the back of your neck.

"You think she so pure. Well she's not Nik." You looked at Klaus with fear. "You can't possibly love her. She's human worth less-" You cut her off.

"Yet, I understand what he went through when he was a child." She looked at me. "Didn't you listen to my story, parents that didn't care." You looked at Nik and so did she. "Sound familiar?" You asked her and then everything went black.

You woke up in bed. It was a dream, it was all a dream. You thought and Klaus ran in, he looked really worried.

"You're ok?" He asked. Ok, maybe it wasn't a dream, you thought. You touched the back of my head. "Elijah held you in time, thankfully." Klaus said and you smiled.

"I'm ok." You said and he walked to the other side of the bed. He laid down putting his arm around you. You laid your head on his chest and wrapped an arm around him. "How much did you hear, between me and Aurora?" You asked and he looked down at you.

"I heard your story." You looked at him. "But I knew your ancestors and when I met you...I could tell you were different. Your a hunter I know, but...you're still my best friend and I still love you." Klaus said and I smiled.

"What about Aurora?" I asked and he laughed.

"You were right, if she truly loved me she would be happy for me, no matter who I was with." Klaus said and I smiled. He leaned down and kissed me. I put my hand on his neck bringing him closer to me. It was soft and sweet. Right there we knew how the other felt. You both pulled away and smiled.

"I love you too." You said and laid your head back down on his chest. He rubbed your back and played with your hair as you fell asleep next to the one you loved.
