I don't own Hetalia. (Hetalia might own me.)
I only own the states and any territories I might choose to add.
The bashing of names by certain states is not meant to offend anyone. (Such as the bashing of the name "Ophelia")
UPDATE 7/26/18: REWRITING DUE TO LACK OF PLANNING, STRUCTURE, AND PLOT
UPDATE 8/15/18: NOTES DUE TO TROLLING AND RUDE COMMENTS ON ARCHIVE/TUMBLR
For the anonymous people:
-to the anon who accused me of doing no research on the revolutionary battles, and then proceeded to copy/paste from wikipedia: ????? my footnotes account for half my word count??? what even???
-to anon going on about incest, USUK is incest because America went around calling him big bro before the revolution, and so is FRUK. For the thing about rivalries: again, FRUK. Also Rusame. Also pre-WWII USUK. For the thing about laws and sexualities: think about how every single country has criminalized being LGBT at some point, and then think about the fact that discrimination is still a thing that happens. Then think about how nearly every ship in Hetalia is m/m. Yeah. If all fic writers went by the laws and cultures, there's no Gerita, Spamano, USUK, FRUK, Rusame, Ameripan, Prucan, Dennor, etc. See your ship? Check your hypocrisy. Don't see it? Good for you. This probably isn't the fic for you. If all fic writers went by this whole "nations have people of all sexualities and ethnicities", then they'd all be mixed-race pansexuals, and the Hetalia characters wouldn't be as, well, white as they are.
-to go with the above note, if there's anything i've learned from the world history college course i took last semester and my seven or so years of history classes and outside reading and research, it's that history is always gayer than you think. Like Shakespeare's sonnets were written to his male lover. Queen Christina of Sweden in her entirety. Just, queer people have always existed. If you can't accept a gay or bisexual personification, I don't really know what you're doing with Hetalia, where 90% of the ships are gay.
-uh, there's a difference between complaining about my states and trolling, and that difference lies mostly in the amount of times you comment. like seriously, when i get five anon comments in the span of like a week all from insert-state-here, its sort of sketchy. like at least switch it up a little. also, if you're going to insult my states talking about how i 'dishonor your proud state', then maybe you should actually read the fic about them, and not the group states family-centric story that has like one paragraph about them. i've never met someone able to discern an entire personality from one paragraph. you can disagree with my representations of the states, but you don't get to harass Robin or me with rude comments. you can say you hate my NY or my CA or my VT, but is it really necessary for you to send multiple comments on multiple fics about it? it's called a difference of opinion. these are my state OCs. keyword: my. these are working off my headcannons and my interpretation of the canon material. personally, i think nations are sort of a secret. if you think every person knows that nations are a thing, okay, that's your opinion. if you think America really is as stupid as he's portrayed, that's your opinion. if you don't like my things, there's so many other state stories you could read. i'm allowed to be upset and angry about comments calling me a bitch because that's not actually a complaint, that's a troll.
-sidenote to the above, you know, in personal experience, when i find a fanfic i don't like, i go back a page and find something new. i don't write a rude comment, and i don't come back the next day when they update and write another one. i certainly don't come back after they've written a response, go through the series, find a fic they hadn't anon-comment locked yet, and write yet another comment. But hey, that's just me. i mean, that'd be like continuously buying the same latte at starbucks just to go complain to the barista that you don't like it.
-to the anon who complained about the story being about states, the series is literally called 'The States'. it's tagged states on both wattpad and archive. i don't know i'm supposed to help you with this.
-For the person who sent the tumblr message to Robin calling her a "dumb weeaboo cunt who doesn't know history" and the anon from tumblr who has twice sent me the same message calling me a stupid bitch, you should possibly stop spending the precious time you have in your life on trolling high schoolers writing fanfics. I mean, come on, is there nothing you could be doing aside from typing these out???
