I jerk awake to the shrill cry of my alarmclock blasting in my ears. My hands grope around aimlessly in a groggy state before finally punching the off-button. I lie there for awhile, still trying to resurrect my body from it's state of hibernation, before I realize what day it is. A slow grin spreads across my face. Today is the day that I see Bastille.

I quickly spring out of bed, alive with a new sense of energy, and jog into the hallway that leads to my kitchen. I press the on-button for my Keurig and insert a package labeled "Hazelnut Decaf". While my coffee brews, I quickly hit the most recently called contact on my contacts list--my best friend, Mary.

It rings a couple of times before a slurred voice answers. "Helluh?"

"Rise and shine sister, we've got a concert to attend!" I enthusiastically shout into the phone.

"Oh was that today? Must've slipped my mind." Mary replies sarcastically. "And who the heck gave you the right to be so happy at this ungodly hour?"

I laugh. "It's already 9:00. Now come on, let's go! We've got a long day ahead of us." I hear an audible moan rumble from the earpiece. I grin into the phone. "I'll pick you up at 10:30. Be ready!" We exchange quick goodbyes and I click the "End" button on my screen. I get changed and drink my coffee as I head out the door to my car.

I arrive at the entrance to Mary's apartment complex and see her waiting outside. She smiles at me and waves, her curly blonde hair brushing her shoulders. Mary and I have been friends since the ninth grade, and 10 years hasn't changed a thing. She climbs into my Toyota and I drive towards town to begin our day.
