    Students kept looking at them and began talking;Toby just glared down at his hands that were on the table. Cassie seemed to notice and glared; she got up "Come on Toby." She said to him. He looked up at her confused "Either come on or you can stay in here and listen to them being annoying." She said to him. He thought about it; knowing she's right, so he got up and followed her out of the cafeteria. They walked down the empty hall "Where w-we going?" He asked as his arm twitched. Cassie only shrugged as the continued walking down the hall "Has everyone always teased you?" She asked Toby, glancing at him. He just nodded as his head twitched; he glared at the floor "I-I really d-don't n-need your g-generosity..." He said to her bluntly,but Cassie interrupted him before he could say anymore "I'm not being generous to you." She said to him in the same tone. He looked at her "Believe me or not,but it's an insult to me that you think I'm like everyone else in this school."She said to him before walking away from him "I'll see you around Toby." The bell rung and students began flooding the hallway as he stood there for a moment. Maybe he should've taken her hand, but he couldn't imagine it would have been different if he did. Toby snapped out of it and just went to class.How could he believe her? Really, how could he at all trust her? Everyone is after him.13

    During the rest of school, she did hang around him all day. She didn't care if the students said anything about being around him, she just ignored them. Everyone wondered why, but couldn't find the answer. When school was over, she walked outside with Toby, having a normal conversation until they heard a guy shout at them from a group not too far away from them "Aw look! Ticci Toby got himself a girlfriend!" The guy shouted. Both Toby and Cassie glared at him while his friends laughed "S-she's not m-my girlfriend!" Toby said more to himself than to them, but they seemed to have heard him. They began to laugh more "W-who would b-blame her!" One said mocking him and pretended to twitch like he did. Cassie felt her blood began to boil"Why don't you come over here instead of hanging around him!?" One called out to her. She gave them a cold glare "I don't waste my time with assholes!" She spat at them as Toby looked over at her. The boys glared at her as they walked away "Bitch!" One shouted at her. Cassie stopped and so did Toby only because she did; she turned around and face them, balling up her fist "Want to say that again?!" She shouted at them in anger as they looked at her. She began walking towards them "What? Cat got your tongue, say it again I dare you!" She threatened them, but Toby held her back when he seen a teacher. He pulled her along "C-calm down Cassie." He said to her. She just grumbled before walking away, hearing them laugh behind them.

When Toby's mom picked him up from school, Cassie walked home. Though once she got home she seen a man sitting at the table and glared at him while he sat there and ate his food. She just rolled her eyes and walked to her room to put her bag on the floor before lying down on the bed. It didn't take long before she heard him yell for her to do something for him and to hit her; that's how her dad is.
