When I woke up in the morning I was greeted by 3 men staring at me with harsh eyes.
"Get up princess, your father wants to see you," one said in a harsh tone.
I still had my clothes on from yesterday so all I had to do was brush my hair.
"Where's the bathroom?" I asked them.
One just pointed across the hall to a dark door.
I walked into the bathroom ad looked for anything to brush my hair with. I found a spiked object and used that. After I looked presentable I walked out and let the men guide me to a dining room where my 'father' sat.
"Come sit," he motioned towards the chair beside him.
"First tell me your name," I said demandingly.
"Branwen, now sit."
He was my only chance of seeing Damien so I obeyed.
"I want you to meet your new personal trainer, Clove," he said.
I saw a white haired guy walk in. His hair was pure white and his eyes glowed a dark red. He had a black jacket and a dark blue shirt on under it. He looked about my age.
"Introduce yourself," Branwen ordered Clove.
"Im Clove. I'm your trainer. I will teach you how to fight," he said dully.
He didn't even look at me. He just stared at the wall behind me.
"Thana introduce yourself," Branwen ordered.
"I'm Thana," I said.
"Clove! Guide my daughter to the training room. Now!" He boomed.
"Come on princess," he said with anger.
I stood up from my chair and walked towards him.
He guided me through twisting hallways and at last we came to a door that had a couple hinges broken off of it.
He carefully opened the door and stepped in. He grabbed 2 long sticks from the corner of the room. He threw one at me and it startled me. It hit me in my gut and knocked the breath out of me.
"Nice," he said sarcastically
He was starting to tick me off now. I picked the stick up and walked onto the mat in the middle of the room. I held the stick up in the starting position. I was guessing that's what it was. He hasn't taught me anything yet. I was copying his moves.
He swung the stick and it hit mine. The force knocked it out of my hands and it hit the ground.
"Be more alert," he said.
"Maybe you should tell me before you do that," I said angrily.
I picked the stick up and put it back in the starting position. He sat there for what seemed like for ever then he finally swung. It hit the stick but I didn't let go. I held it out in front of me trying to protect myself but he swung the stick straight into my side. Pain filled my stomach I dropped the stick and grabbed my side.
"Quit acting like a baby. It doesn't hurt that much," he said.
I was mad. I wanted to punch him in his face. I wanted to destroy him.
I picked my stick and walked back. I got in the starting position and prepared for his next attempt to attack. He swung the stick but I ducked before it hit me. I straightened up and jabbed the end of the stick into his stomach knocking the breath out of him. I hit his cheek with the stick which sent him tumbling to the ground. I held the stick to his throat.
"Be more alert," I said mockingly.
He looked stunned. I just grinned staring at him.
He grabbed the sticks and put them away.
"Training is canceled for the day," he said.
"So just because I beat you your going to quit?" I said teasingly.
His eyes glowed with anger. He turned towards me.
"I never wanted to train spoiled, stupid princesses like you! I would kill you but then Branwen would kill her!" He yelled.
He stared at the ground with genuine sadness on his face.
"Who is her?" I asked.
"None of your business princess," he snapped back.
"Quit calling me princess! I'm not one, I don't even want to be here," I admitted
"Why, you get to boss people around and do whatever you want," he said.
"I'm being forced to stay here. Branwen has my best friend locked up. I have to go along with everything he wants," I said.
Tears started burning in the back of my eyes. Thinking of Damien being tortured in that cell.
"I'll make you a deal," he started.
"You help me break out my mom and I'll help you break out your friend. After that we'll never had to see each other again."
I thought about it for 5 seconds. I didn't see a downside.
"Deal," I said.
I reached my hand out towards him to shake on it. He grasp my hand and shook it.
"Meet me in he back gardens tonight," and with that he walked away.
Something was fascinating about him, I wanted to know more about him, but I doubt that would happen.
