New Beginnings

Pucca laughed as she and Ching practiced sword-fighting near the entrance to Sooga Village. Today had been a peaceful day. Garu was meditating (and even floating a little) by the town gate, Abyo was practicing really advanced Kung-fu, and everyone else was enjoying the warm but not overly warm weather.

Pucca and Ching both stopped fighting when Pucca noticed a pair of girls standing by the gate. One of them had long brown hair pulled into two heart-shaped buns, hazel eyes, and a black outfit on. The other had long black hair tied into a single tight braid, honey-colored eyes, and was wearing a red shirt with black pants and a red choker necklace.

Garu gave a noise of confusion and opened one eye. Deciding that new comers were worth his attention, he opened both eyes and stood up.

"Hello ladies~!" Abyo smiled, sliding into their line of view.

The girl with the buns grabbed the other girl's sleeve and shuffled closer to her.

"Don't scare the girls away." Garu muttered, pushing  Abyo out of the way. The black ninja smiled at the two girls. "Don't be shy. Come in! This is a friendly town there is not much for you to be afraid of."

Pucca giggled and jumped onto his back. He gave her a sour look that soon melted into a neutral expression. "You can eat over at the Go-Rong! They have the best noodles ever!" Pucca threw her arms out in a wild manner, gesturing happily.

The girl in the red shirt spoke, "I am Mika and this is-"

"Aw who cares what your names are? Lets just party!" Abyo stated, ripping his shirt off.

The second girl flushed and looked away as Mika frowned. "Is there any place we can rest for the night? We have been traveling for a very long time and are tired."

Pucca looked up at how the sun was setting. Yup. Time for dinner. "Come with me! We only have one spare room in the Go-Rong, but you can sleep there!"

The silent girl grabbed her friend's hand and looked at her with pleading eyes. Mika sighed. "How much would rent be?"

"Oh you'll have to ask my uncles about that." Pucca sheepishly rubbed the back of her head.

The new duo shared a look before walking forward, much to Pucca's delight who skipped forward, bowed, turned on her heel, and led the way to her home and Uncles' work place.

Garu, Abyo, and Ching all followed too, mostly just for the food that the Go-Rong offered.

"Oh! My friend is Dove." Mika said just as they arrived to the Go-Rong, startling Abyo.

"A pretty name for a pretty lady~" he stated, immediately getting hit on the head by Ching afterwards. "Ow! You're such an abusive girlfriend! I'm telling my dad!"

Ching just scoffed and walked into the Go-Rong. The door closed before Abyo could get in and he ended up hitting his face on the door.

Garu sighed and opened the door for Abyo who chuckled and ducked inside. Pucca followed with a kiss to Garu's cheek.

Dove and Mika filed in next to last with Garu just behind them.

"This place is huge!" Mika observed. Dove nodded, mouth wide open as she craned her neck to look at the ceiling. 

Garu chuckled as he walked around the gawking duo.

Pucca walked to the back room to get her uncles as Garu led everybody to a table.

Dada came to take their orders. Everybody ordered noodles.

Pucca came back out with Uncle Dumpling.

"Hello young ones. My name is Uncle Dumpling. You want to rent our guest room, correct?"

Mika nodded. "That is correct, sir. How much would it be?"

"Oh you don't need money! Just enjoy our food and we'll be more than pleased to let you lovely young ladies stay here."

Dove smiled, then moved her hands and fingers. Garu and Pucca had been silent long enough for everybody in the village to learn sign language.

"She says 'thank you.'" Mika explained.

"They know sign language." Ching said. "We all do! Garu and Pucca both took a vow of silence when they were younger and everyone learned sign language to be able to speak with them."

"Well isn't that sweet?" Mika commented. "Well, Dove was born mute so when I met her, I learned sign language to accommodate."

"Aw! So cute!" Pucca cried as Uncle Dumpling went back to the kitchen to make their food.

The six conversed amongst themselves until the food came.

After the meal -which was highly praised my Mika and Dove- the new duo gave Dada a hearty tip, then Pucca showed them to their room.

Hey! Don't worry, Dove and Mika won't be huge in the story at all. Just side characters.
The chapters will get better (I hope) as I go and hopefully I can stick to the original story line I had planned.

In any case, please give some constructive criticism, it helps a lot!
