New Beginnings

Chapter 5

Garu sat in his room at the foot of his bed, trying to meditate.

It wasn't working in has favor as just about every little noise seemed to break his concentration.

He sighed in irritation and stood up. He really wanted to fight something or someone.

He would usually go to Tobe if he wanted a fight, but today was the day he was going on a "date" with Pucca.

Garu had to shudder at that thought.

Who in their right mind would want to go on a date with that lunatic?

"Thank you for choosing to go with me." Tobe said softly as he picked Pucca up from the Go-Rong.

Her uncles had lectured him for thirty minutes while she had been getting ready. They had informed him that if anything happened to Pucca, Garu wouldn't be his only enemy in town.

Now Pucca had joined him downstairs and he was bowing to her as he thanked her.

"Thank you for getting me out of the house!" Pucca retaliated, bowing as well.

Tobe straightened up and gazed over Pucca's ensemble. She was wearing a red dress with black polka-dots and black stockings. Her hair was put up in two intricately weaved buns with a bit of curled hair hanging down out of them. She was wearing a small coat of light pink lipstick and light blush.

Tobe smiled softly. He himself was wearing a dark blue long-sleeved shirt with a dragon print on it and black pants with many pockets. He wasn't wearing his mask and his hair was tied up in its usual ponytail. He felt a little underdressed compaired to her.

"Shall we go?" Tobe asked, offering a hand to Pucca.

She accepted it and walked to stand closer to him. "We shall."

Tobe smiled before bringing her hand to his lips and laying a gentle kiss upon her knuckles. "Say no more my fair princess."

Pucca giggled and looked away, embarased but happy.

Pucca had never had a boy treat her like this. She was confused. Why Tobe of all people?

Tobe led her out the restaurant and they began walking to the cinema. Hand-in-hand. They acquired a lot of stares on their journey but neither of them paid it any mind.

They walked in silence for the most part with the occasional "hey that's pretty," from Pucca as they passed a shop that had something pretty on display.

Upon reaching the cinema, they decided to buy some popcorn and a couple drinks before going to the room their movie would be in.

They chatted aimlessly before the movie started about nothing of interest to the wandering ear.

After the movie, Tobe took Pucca out to eat, then home. By then it was near dark and her uncles were ecstatic to see her home safe.

Garu's eyes shot open as his breathing hitched. He shot into a sitting position where he had been laying down, throwing Mia who had been on his chest, onto the floor.

Why was he getting so worked up over this?
