Saphires POV:
The whole book will mainly be in her pov or Blake's so if I don't write who's pov it is its most likely saphires.I was walking down the hall with my bestest friend Blake. We have been friends before preschool even started. We started as being friends when he moved in next door. We've been friends ever since that day. So anyways as Blake and I were walking down the hall people were giving us Googley eyes and some were giving us death glares. At my school people hate the fact of boys and girls being best friends but nothing can stop us from being friends. Not even another friend. Yes, we have other friends, but Blake and I usually hang with each other. No one really likes us because people think either we should date (heck no), or we should split our friendship up and be with our own gender. Which is not cool.
"Cya at lunch." Blake says as he interrupts my thoughts.
"Oh yeah, um see you at lunch." I quickly flinch. I head to class and start my boring day.
...
(Lunch time now)As I walk into the cafeteria, I do my daily thing, look for Blake. But I don't see him, so I look for my other friend and go over to her. Her name is Autumn, other than Blake she is my best friend but to clarify Blake it my BESTEST friend.
"Soooo, how's Blake? Are you guys a couple yet?" She blurts out.
"Bruh, I don't like him that way, we both think we should just be best friends, so we don't ruin our relationship." I whisper "Why do you ask me that anytime you see me?"
"Is that what you want?" Autumn questions. "To be just friends?"
"Of course." I speak
"But if you were friends this long you should be fine dating, like girl it's been how many years?" Autumn questions again.
"Just give it a break, please autumn." I say with a tinge of annoyance in my voice.
"Why are you cutting off this convo so quickly? Do you like him?" Autumn blurts out.
Because you are annoying me, I want to say.
"Because I want to eat in peace." I stand up and look for Blake and I see him talking to another girl. She has long wavy light brown hair and sun kissed skin, with a nice physique. My ears turn red, and I sit back down.
"Girl what's up?" Autumn says looking around.
"Nothing," I reply "but I think I'm going to go to the bathroom, I'll be back in a second." I stand up and start walking towards the cafeteria exit. What is up with my attitude. Blake can be friends with anyone he wants to be. That girl was so pretty though. I make it to the bathroom, and I wash my hands and look in the mirror. Maybe I'm just afraid of our friendship ending because you know how high school girls are. Oh, you can't be friends with her, you can't be friends with him. People need to make their own opinions and learn to trust people. Of course, unless they broke your trust, then there is a reason not to trust people. It is exhausting being a girl in high school. I head back to the cafeteria because I forgot to throw away my tray. When i near the door I almost run into a girl. The girl he was talking to.
"Oh I'm so sorry!" I say
"It's all good!" She says with a big smile. She must be new I have never seen her around. "Samantha, and you are?"
"I'm Sapphire. Did you just move here?" I say
"Yes! Everyone here is so nice!" She says.
I stare at her like she is crazy. Everyone is probably so nice to her because she's 1. new and 2. absolutely beautiful. By homecoming she'll probably have all the boys at her feet wanting to take her.
Authors note:
Hey guys it's Montana! If you're reading this, you're either 1. new to this book. or 2. you're rereading it because I am fixing it up now that I am a little be older than I was in 2016. Whichever one it is I hope you enjoy as I try to fix this up so it's not as cringey as I think 2016 me made it.
