Sapphire
After my encounter with the new girl, I look for Blake. I see him throwing away his tray and I go over to him. "Hey stranger" I say watching him jump, "dang how did I scare you?"
"You didn't scare me." he says grumpily at me. "I was just practicing my ninja moves."
Is that really the best he could come up with? Why did he jump in a room full of people? I shrug it off and wait for him to put his tray on the counter. He comes over to me and we head to our 3rd block. Our one and only class this semester that we have together, gym. We head to the opposite locker rooms. I grab a lock from the teacher and hang it on locker number 06. I change into my gym uniform and head out to the gym. Since it is the first day of school, we are just playing dodgeball. We all gather on the bleachers waiting for everyone to come out of the locker rooms. I sit next to Blake hoping to be on his team. I see Samantha walk into the gym. How can she look so seamlessly perfect in the oversized gym shorts and shirt.
Blake waves her over. "Hey Samantha. Have you met my best friend, Sapphire?"
"Of course I have!" she says staring at Blake. She turns around and shoves us apart so she can sit in between us. I look at Blake confused, and he shrugs.
"Ok guys we put you into two teams. If your last name is A-L you're on the left. If it is M-Z you're on the right." A surge of disappointment goes through me. Blake and I are on two opposite sides of the alphabet. Oh well I can be competitive against him.
"Good luck Blake Im'a getcha" I call to him as we part ways. I see Samantha going with Blake. I hope the competition to get me out isn't 2 vs 1. The teachers line up the center with rubber dodge balls. One teacher blows the whistle, and everyone runs to the balls. I stay behind because there is no point when a ball will fly over any second. I'm a better dodger then runner for the balls. A ball flies over and I dodge it then pick it up. I look for my target Blake and throw it at him. He dodges it and laughs. He grabs one and throws it towards me. I dodge it then reach down for it when I get pelted in the face by one. My glasses go flying and I'm on the ground. I feel tears brink my eyes because of the stinging. The teacher blows the whistle and I see Blake running over to me.
"Bro are you okay?" He asks. I blink and just stare at him. He grabs my glasses and helps me stand up.
"Yeah, no I need to sit." I say going to the ground again dizzy as crap.
"I'll go get a nurse." One of the teachers says leaving.
"Bro that smack was so loud I'm surprised your glasses didn't break. " Blake says picking me up. "It'll be quicker if I just take you to the nurse myself."
Authors note:
Hey ya'll! I changed the story line a little bit, but I hope you don't mind. Before I rewrote this chapter it was very short so I hope this is a better length and I hope it brings more to the plot.
