Bushfire
All Australian's now the risk of Bushfires every year, we all deal with them in different ways.
Sadly for some people the risk of fire comes closer, in the cities the bushfire danger is quite low but in the country it is really high. It is hard to put into words the feeling when a bushfire is close it is a mix of excitement and fear coming out in one blast, in early 2015 I went to my first bushfire as part of the Country Fire Authority (CFA) it is an amazing feeling knowing that ordinary people you see everyday fight fires saving your life and they don't get payed, what I find a little bit annoying is that when CFA or any volunteer fire brigade go to a fire they don't get a lot of credit, yes they do get thanked but that's about it, nothing more happens. Currently in Australia their is some fighting between the CFA the government and the fire fighters union, and only a handful of people actually know what it's about. But what will happen if it gose ahead is the CFA's funding will be cut so paid fireies (Fire fighters) get paid more and the CFA will no longer be in charge at a fire even if it's in your home town some paid bloke will be who might not even know the area will be in charge.

Of course for most Australian's the first fire that comes to mind is Black Saturday in 2009 .
2009 started out different to any other year, instead of having a hot January and hot February, we had an unusually cold January, at the time we thought nothing really of it only now we now it was the weakness before the storm. I was 8 ( I have a really good memory) when the fires started, i'm the only one of my cousins and sister who can remember what happened. My dad and grandfather fought the fires but I know very little about their experiences with the fire, it's not something we talk about. Early this winter we travelled through Kinglake on our way back from seeing relatives, that was the first time dad spoke about the fire since he returned. This is a photo of a memorial for a township which was set on the side of the main road that we visited, the tree's that you can just see in the background are black still from the bushfires.
The Black Saturday bushfire burned over 4,550km2 of bushland and claimed 173 lives and left 414 in hospital.
In the video a man called Sam who comes on who can't find his wife and kids, his wife and their kids did die in the fires.
