"One day someone will walk into your life and make you see why it never worked out with anyone else."
I finished curling the last piece of hair and fluffed my hair, meh good enough, I thought and shrugged to myself. Grabbing my backpack and the whole bag of Cheez-its, I was on my way walking towards the bus stop. Plugging in my headphones into my phone I realised I had a notification, someone had added me on snapchat, opening the snapchat app I saw the username nathanuk and it immediately clicked. This was the dude off that creepy website, I stuffed some cheez-its in my mouth while hitting, add back.
Hey how's it going Scottish kid?
Meh could be better i'm getting off school right now
Ugh lucky i'm walking to my bus stop, why does school even exist? I can get an education from Netflix! There are educational movies on there! Ugh
I'm not sure why school exists either... It truly sucks ass. I'll text you in 10, the bus pulled up byeeeeeee
Okay bye talk to you soon!
I jammed my phone into the back pocket of my jeans, and spotted my friends at the end of the street. I started walking like a chicken that just got it's head cut off, "HEYYYYYY!" I said elongating the word while waving like a maniac.
"Hey! How was your first night alone without the guardians?" Audrey asked. Audrey is one of my best friends, she is about as perfect as they come, Audrey has long, chestnut hair cascading down her back about half way. Her eyes capture anyone with their beauty and their captivating dark brown essence. Her Indian background shining through from her delicate features, and beautiful leather-coloured skin. She's that one very weird friend who makes everyone laugh along side the other weird friend, she's the 'i'll cut a bitch' friend and she's my best friend.
Then there's Makena. Makena is the complete opposite from Audrey, for one she's blonde and has the most fascinating blue eyes. Her tan complexion is a result from all the hours she spends playing golf out in the sun, her hair is soft like silk, Makena's personality is one that everyone enjoys. She's the one that you automatically go to whenever you have a problem, she's the person who show's you around school your very first day and remains your friend throughout the school years, and i'm happy to call her my best friend. Makena and Audrey are the only people who really know me personally and my dark past. I come off as the insipid, weird friend who everyone thinks is the craziest person ever but is the dumbest person ever, not true at all. What people don't know won't hurt them, I hate bringing up my past and it was a very stressful moment when I finally told Audrey and Makena, but they stuck by me and comforted me when I broke down.
"It wasn't any different, I just woke up and did the shit that I needed to do, and plus it's only until next week they come back from Australia." I said while putting my cheez-its back into my backpack so I can eat them later. Audrey walked over and linked arms with me "Well I for one think you need to throw a party, it would be fun and you can even invite Mark, we know you like h-" she got cut off by the bus pulling up to the curb and the door flying open. She gave me a pointed look as if to say "You got lucky this time but we will continue this conversation later." Makena just laughed and shrugged and climbed the steps onto the bus.
As the bus bumped along I took out my phone and earphones, connected the earphones to the phone, and opened up Spotify to my 'I am sad for no reason' playlist. As soon as I put in my earphones the outside world faded into a distinct memory, the only thing that remained was the sweet guitar strings being plucked, in the intro of 'Cherry Wine' by Hoizer, I rested my head on the back of the seat and closed my eyes.

I was jolted awake by the bus wheels running into a pothole, I looked outside the window and saw the sunrise over the harbour that never ceased to take my breath away every morning. This morning's sunrise was a breathtaking display of radiant colors. Bright streaks of red, pink, and orange slowly overcame the dark blue and purple of the twilight sky. The sky resembled a prism; all the colors blended perfectly into each other. The sun itself was just peeking out of the horizon, and its brilliant rays already shined brightly and began to warm the air. I marveled at the glistening reflection of the sun off the harbour and a thrilling feeling of awe swept over me. "I will never ever get tired of this," I thought, through the corner of my eyes I saw Mark Connachan staring at me, I got flustered and looked down at my lap playing with the wire of my earphones.
Mark Connachan, my crush since the 2nd grade, all star football player, 4.0 GPA student, and someone that will never feel the same way I do. I'm usually a very confident person but whenever i'm around Mark alone, I get all tongue tied and can't speak. It's a very big problem. My phone buzzed and I looked down and saw a Snapchat notification, I unlocked my phone and saw it was Nathan.
Hey i'm home now what's up?
Nothing much about to arrive at hell. But everyday the bus passes downtown and we catch the sunrise. It's so beautiful.
I bet it is, not trying to be creepy but where do you live?
Yep very creepy, but why the fuck not. Gig Harbor, Washington.
Okay be right back while I go stalk the fuck out of your town.
Haha have fun with that! Don't stalk too hard.
I giggled and put my phone away and started thinking, "What a funny kid, oh shit I hope he doesn't find an embarrassing picture of me. God damn it." The annoying bus driver, Ms. Sharon, started talking over the loud speaker, "Everyone leave in an orderly fashion, and William, Caden, and Cade, you need to stay on the bus. Have a majestic Monday children!" We all collectively groaned at the use of words by Ms. Sharon, she was always wayyy too fucking happy in the mornings.
