Faline Potter: First Year

Prologue: 11 Years Ago

Lupin's POV:

I was at Saint Mungo's waiting to meet my God-Daughter for the first time. I am a little nervous she born six weeks early. What she's sick? I thought while I passed in the corner of the waiting room. Will I waited I remember  the day James and Lily Potter asked me to be Faline's Godfather.

Flashback

I was sitting in my living room a few days after the latest full-moon. When suddenly an owl flew in through the open window and dropped a letter on the coffee table. I recognized James's hand writing, so I read it quickly. He and Lily wanted to see me immediately at their house in Godric's Hollow.

So I went of to the fireplace and took same floo powder and stepped into the fire. I said "Potter house Godric's Hollow". When I appeared in their fire place they were waiting for me on the lounge. "Where's Harry?" I asked sitting in an arm chair across from them. Harry a little under three months old. Lily said he was having his afternoon nap, I nodded. "Why did you wish to speak to me?" I asked.

James looked at Lily who nodded and he said "Lily is pregnant again". I was shocked. After Harry was born they said they weren't going to have anymore children until Voldemort was dead. "We were wandering if you could be the Godfather this time" James stated. Lily nodded in agreement, when a baby cry told them Harry was awake. Lily excused herself to go tend to her son.

"Are you sure you want me to be the Godfather?" I asked. James nodded, saying that they always planned on me being the Godfather of their second child. "I would be honoured" I said happily and congratulated him on the baby. I asked if anyone else knew and apparently I was the only, apart from Dumbledore.

Lily came back in with Harry who looked happy to see his Dad and me. James told Lily I had agreed to be the Godfather and she was excited. They told not to tell anyone, because they want to protect their unborn child. Especially as there is a spy in the order close to them. They are going to use magic to hid her pregnancy and have a private healer. I went back to my place after that wandering want to new addition to the Potter family would be like.

Present: June 21st 1981

James came into the waiting room saying "you can see her now, follow me". I followed him to the private room Lily was in and she was holding her daughter. When I got next to her I saw that the baby had her facial features and hair colour. Lily asked if I wanted to hold Faline, I was reluctant not wanting to hurt my Goddaughter.

But Lily gave her to me as I supported Faline's head and she opened her eyes. She had James's hazel eyes. She was the opposite of Harry who looked like their Father, but had their Mother's eyes. Harry was in a stroller next to Lily's bed. He was staring at his baby sister curiously. Apparently Harry was already protective over his little sister. Because when the nurse came in to a health check on Faline. She cried and Harry started to tell the nurse off for upsetting his 'little sis'.

October Halloween 1981

I was in-charge of Faline's safety whilst James and Lily go into hiding with Harry. A few more people know about Faline now, a few Hogwarts staff members (McGonagall, Snape and Hagrid) and the Tonks family ( Edward, Andromeda and their 8 year old daughter Nymphadora) know as well. The Tonks look after Faline during the full-moon so that I don't hurt her by accident. I was worried at first when I started to look after Faline. But now we have a routine and everything is going smoothly. Faline is shy around new people, but she seems to know that no-one will hurt when certain people (Harry, James, Lily and me) are around.

It was the day after Halloween and Faline was sleeping in as she woke up during the middle of the night. From a nightmare i suspect, until Dumbledore appears from my fire place as I was making my morning tea. When he told want had happened last night James and Lily dying. Harry surviving, when Voldemort tried to kill him. How he was going to live with Lily's muggle sister, until he is seventeen. But that he will be going to Hogwarts when he turns eleven. 

I was to raise Faline as my own, as I was her Godfather and it was in her parents will. Faline woke up crying again and I ran to her room. I took her downstairs after changing her nappy and feed her as Dumbledore told me about how the Tonks will continue to help me on the full moon.  Also that Faline was to stay a secret until her first year at Hogwarts. Where she'll finally meet her brother and everyone will know of the secret Potter child. He left after telling me that the Ministry will not bother me about raising Faline.
