“Aha. You must be the new transfer, er..Maya. Come and take a seat there, by the window” Wow. This teacher was certainly a looker. His smile was bright enough to light up a room and his hair was combed to perfection. You could practically see the pheromones oozing out of him and I wasn’t the only ones to notice this. No wonder all the girls were sitting at the front of the class. He was probably in his mid 20’s and certainly the reason why this English class was so interesting.
“We’re studying Macbeth, I take it you know the play?”
“Uh..yea just a little” Yea. Puh-Lease. I had read that almost a thousand times. I know that play back to front. I guess I could thank my brother for that. He was such a smarty pants. It was the rivalry between my brother and I which fuelled my competitive spirit in the academic field. And it paid off. I topped my grade for quite a while until he died, then I just let everything slip, everything began to fall apart…
“You know Macbeth and like how he wants the throne because of greed. He’s like juxtaposing with Duncan right? Whats up with that?” I looked up at the little-miss-know-it-all at the front. It was so obvious she had no idea what she was saying. I snorted, her stupidity was almost funny. The class turned to me with a look of shock.
“Is there a problem?” The teacher questioned, and obvious look of curiosity lingered in his eyes. Just so you know, I’m not into those guys, so his somewhat sexy look was more like pedobear offering me candy. But I took it anyway.
“ No. It’s just that I don’t think saying big words without knowing what they mean makes you start. Isn’t obvious all she wants is your attention.” A few people gasped, a guy in the back whistled. What? I didn’t insult the Queen .

The school bells rung with a high pitched shill and I dragged myself over to the cafeteria. Like my old school the like was always endless, looks like I’m going to have to wait it out.
“Hey, MAYA! Over Here!”
Darcy sat at the table right at the center of the room with a group of 4 or so boys. I waved and hesitantly walked over, weakly smiling as Darcy introduced each of them.
“Why don’t you come sit with us? I got you something to eat, figured you wouldn’t have predicted the endless line.”
I was about to reject the offer, but after a glance back I the line I decided I could put up with the boys for a bit, “Yeah sure.” I mumbled, sitting down in the small space between Darcy and another guy overdosed with cologne. I swear I couldn’t breathe.Midway through nibbling my overcooked pasta I felt a glare piercing the back of my head. It was the same girl who I’d embarrassed in English. I took a closer look at her appearance now. She had perfectly cut shoulder length curls, and what seemed to be designer clothing and makeup. Wait. I might just have insulted the queen, and judging from her cloned pose she was not alone. I could see her about to get up and confront me, so I grabbed my lunch and bags and left at the speed of light, quickly bidding the boys good bye. I left to a place where I hoped I get some peace and quiet. The Library.
