"Mom please, can we just stay here for one more night?" I pleaded.
"No, honey, your aunt Ollie is expecting us to be their tonight."
"Please mom, I don't want to live with aunt Ollie and all her crazy children." Mom gave me a disapproving look for that one.
Mom sighed, "Dear it's been a long two weeks and I just don't think I can stand being here anymore."
A tear dripped off my face, "But I can."
Mom stopped folding laundry and walked over closer to me, "Sometimes you need to put others first."
A painful laugh came out of me, "What about Meghan and Janie?"
Mom looked back down at her laundry, "You will make new friends."
I huffed, "Meghan and Janie are my new friends."
Mom tried to change the subject, "You'll be sharing a room with your cousins Abbey and Katrina."
I ran my fingers through my hair, "Who are they?"
Mom sighed, "Abbey is 17 and Katrina is 15."
"Mom I don't want to share a room with other people." I could feel the tears streaming down my face.
"Honey, you can't always get what you want."
"I know, how many kids does aunt Ollie have?"
Mom smiled, "Five."
"Ugh, what's their names and ages?"
Mom thought for a moment, still not looking up from the laundry she was folding. "Abbey is the oldest, she's 17, then it's Katrina who is 15, then there is Markus who is 13, then there's Alison who is 7 and last there is Caleb who is 2."
I laughed in disbelief, I don't know how I'm going to live with so many other people.
After a moment of silence mom started the conversation back up, "So are you still going over to Janie's in like an hour?"
"Yes."
"Okay."
I walked out of the living room and up the stairs to my bedroom, a FaceTime request from Meghan popped up on my phone, I answered.
"Hey Meghan."
"Heyyyyy Norrrrraaaaa"
I giggled at her, "Your coming over to Janie's right?"
"Yeah of course, I'm gonna miss you so much."
"Same."
Meghan's dog, Jackson hopped up onto her lap and started to lick her.
I smiled, "There's one reason why I don't like dogs!"
Meghan looked up at her phone and smiled back, "Oh trust me, I know."
I heard my mom scream for me, "Come down here Nora!"
I looked back down at my phone and gave Meghan the 'I'm in trouble face', "I should probably go."
"Okay see you later Nora, bye."
"Bye."
I walked down the stairs into the living room, my mom was carrying boxes out to the car.
"What do you want mom?"
"I want you to finish packing your things then put them into the van."
I gave mom a puzzled look, "Where not getting a moving truck?"
"We may have to, but if we can fit everything we need in the van I guess we won't want have to."
"Have you put down the back seats?"
"Yup."
"Okay." I started to walk back up the stairs, but then I heard a shout.
"Wait, Nora!"
"Yes mom?"
"Only pack things that can't be replaced, they have beds and stuff like that there for us already."
"Okay mom."
As I reached my room I looked down at the things I had already packed in boxes. One box was jammed full of plaques, ribbons and trophies. They other one that was already packed had my baby blanket, some of my smaller paintings, a picture of Heather and I and some other picture frames that had photos of Meghan, Janie and the rest of the cheer squad in them.
I pulled out a suitcase that mom had gave me when I was twelve. It was blue with cheetah prints all over it.
I packed 6 pairs of jeans, 12 dressy shirts, 14 t-shirts, 5 shorts, 3 tank tops, 3 summer dresses, 2 pairs of sweatpants, and 3 pajama sets. Mom said we could go shopping when we got there so I could get some more clothes since I'm leaving almost my whole wardrobe behind.
My phone started to buzz, I picked it up and realized that Janie was calling.
"Hello, Janie are you there?"
"Hey Nora, are you still coming over, Meghan and I are waiting on you."
Mom said I had like another hour, Ugh. Might as well come up with a excuse.
"Oh I completely forgot.."
"It's okay." Janie told me.
"I'll leave my house as soon as I'm done packing, love ya guys."
"Okay, love ya too Nora."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm really gonna miss ya Nors."
I smiled at Meghan, "Never again call me that."
Meghan giggled as she wiped the tears out of her eyes. "It won't be the same without you around."
Now I wiped the tears out of my own eyes, "I know, I'm gonna miss you and Janie so much."
Meghan face turned curious, "Speaking of Janie where is she?"
"She had to pee." I answered.
Janie walked back into the room and hugged me once again, "Goodbye Nora."
"Goodbye Jan."
After a moment of silence my mom rolled down the window of the car, "Come on Nora, we where supposed to leave a hour ago, stop taking forever."
I rolled my eyes, "Bye guys, I'm gonna miss you."
Meghan wiped the tears of my cheeks, "We will FaceTime later."
Janie pipped in, "And Snapchat and text."
I rolled my eyes, "Thank goodness for the internet."
Meghan and Janie and I all started to laugh.
"Well this is my final goodbye, I love you guys."
"And I love you too." Both Meghan and Janie said at the same time.
I hopped into the car. Mom pulled out of the driveway expressionless. Tears dripped off my face as we drove farther and farther away from my only real friends.
