"Riley! You're gonna be late for school!" I jump up, I'm never late for school, I've not missed a day since I had my appendix removed in the seventh grade, "Coming mom!" I grab the first thing in my closet and immediately regret not putting anything out last night. I picked the only thing in my closet that I don't want to wear. The stupid crop top they forced me to buy, and a pair of high rise jeans. I go too find another shirt but its ten minutes until mom leaves and I have too find breakfast. I run down the stairs where my mom, and sister are sitting at the table, "Go ahead and get some oatmeal. And you better hurry. All the stuff you put on it is on the counter." I look over at maxwell who's eating her oatmeal as slow as she can, she'd never admit it to mom, but she hates oatmeal. Maxwell is ten, she was born eight years after my dad was killed. Mom is currently pregnant with a baby boy. Yeah, way too go mom one about to graduate and another going into third grade, let's have another baby. Almost as if on cue my step-dad who I call dad because he stepped up and has been my father for the last twelve years, also because he's the only dad I've ever really known so he is dad. "Morning, Daddy!" Maxwell shoots out of her chair and runs too dad, "Morning Princess." He picks her up and kisses her forehead, "Go get your backpack." He puts her down and she does as he says, "Morning, Beautiful." He kisses mom and then walks over and kisses my forehead, "And morning, Half-Pint." He's called me Half-Pint for as long as I can remember, I'd feel weird if he called me by my first name without me being in trouble, "Morning, Daddy." He takes the seat across from Mom, "What time is the doctor's appointment Rebecca?" Mom looks at her watch, "Eight thirty. We better get going. Maxwell! Its time too go!" Max comes running through the hallway and I pour my oatmeal into a thermos, "Let's go." Mom picks up Max and we begin walking out the door, Dad stops to get oatmeal, "Aaron! We have three minutes to get our children to the school! Hurry!" He does what I did and puts his oatmeal in a cup, grabs a spoon and runs out the door with us.

We made it to school just before Taylor was about to leave, she has too drop her brother and sister off at elementary so she waits for me as well. "Who the hell are you?!" I look at what I'm wearing and shrug, "I was running late." She nods and backs out of the parking lot.

We get too school five minutes later and the first thing I notice is an angry Simone smacking a not so happy Brent. "You left me there! Its not my fault I cheated! If I'd have had my boyfriend, I wouldn't have cheated!" He takes hold of her hands, "Alec told me everything. You willingly walked up to Bradley and started kissing him. You seriously want me too believe that you accidentally cheated on me with your ex. Plus you were sober when you were sleeping with him the next morning." She has tears in her eyes and just looks at him, "Wha... What are you saying?" He drops her hands and smiles at her, "I think we should break up." She slaps him hard across the face and walks off, "Fine! But this is it! We're through!" He smiles and yells back, "Good!" I look over at Taylor and Nadia, when did she get here? "Did you hear that? For the first time since freshman year. Brent is single. Hush hush hush he's coming over here." They laugh and hug me, "Bye, Riley. We'll see you after class." I feel a tap on my shoulder, "Hey, Riley." I turn around and see Brent standing there, "Um. Hi Brent." He smiles and hands me the pencil I dropped in the floor, "How are this morning?" I smile at him, "I'm pretty good. You?" He smiles and runs a hand through his hair, "I'm doing pretty good now that I got rid of the psycho." I laugh and smile at him, "I was actually gonna walk to our first period. You wanna walk with me." He nods and we walk to our first. He takes a seat next too his best friend Alec and I take a seat next to my biology partner Ryan. I really hate biology.
