Chapter 16 - Happy Ending?:
"This isn't healthy for you Lady Ingrid." The female behind the bundle of white said. "You need to go outside into the Sun."
"So people can laugh at me?! Call me a monster?! Throw sticks at me because I am breathing the same air as their children?!" Ingrid screamed throwing the tray which held the fruit into the wall. "Please, just let me be."
"Sif, please leave me with Lady Ingrid." Suddenly Thor's voice sounded in the distance.
The female in red and silver armor turned to take another look at the small child. Lady Ingrid had been in Asgard for almost five months now, refusing to leave her room. When Thor brought the young woman into the castle every soul pulled back and went out screaming. Odin was not to flattered when he saw the girl but knew he had to help her. Lady Sif was more than ecstatic to see the girl who she brought back last time.
Odin started the process of shifting back into a human being, but it is well known that that process takes years.
And that is why Ingrid sat in a dark room, covered by her white blankets, staring at the archway that led outside onto the balcony.
"Lady Ingrid." Thor took a seat next to the small girl, noticing the attempted shift away from him. "Have you been eating well? Sif has told me you refuse to go outside..."
He was awarded with silence. Ingrid had tears in her eyes and she was thanking the gods the sheet over her head was enough of a barrier to keep her hidden from the large bearded man. She was feeling betrayed, hurt... Even beaten as her eyes made contact with the small dog tags around her neck.
"When did you come back?" She voiced in a small whisper.
"This morning." Thor answered, happy she was willing to talk to him. "The boys seem to be doing well."
"Please don't lie. I know they were captured by Coulson..." Ingrid sighed.
"And I know you helped them." Thor laughed slightly as he noticed the girl grumble profanities under her breath. "Do not worry Lady Ingrid, your brothers are fine along with Captain."
"DO NOT!" Ingrid suddenly yelled, startling Thor and the servants outside her chambers.
The furniture suddenly started flying nonchalantly in the air and Thor sighed. He knew it was time to leave.
"Lady Ingrid..."
"Leave..." Ingrid whispered out, not meeting his gaze. "Please, just leave..."
Thor felt the plead in her voice and sadly turned to leave. He did not understand why the girl was so delicate when Steve was mentioned, or why she refused to leave her chambers. Even if Sif and Odin explained it to him, the thunder god just couldn't understand.

Steve sat inside his apartment absently watching the wall. After Thor disappeared with Ingrid nearly five months ago, he hasn't exactly been on the better side of life.
Ingrid's brothers were captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. but soon broke out, destroying the base they were held in. Coulson returned to his work, while the Avengers scattered all over, some staying in contact while others didn't.
He took hold of the silver necklace around his neck and took a good look at it. He remembered Thor's words and smiled. The rune that was carved in Ingrid's ring was that of love. She gave him something that represented her love for him.
And that was enough to make him happy.
Well, until he finds out where the girl will be in a few years.
