Reigisa : What Friendship Can Lead To

Chapter 1

Nagisa had never been a straight A student. This fact doesn't necessarily mean he's dumb, but sometimes he struggles. His best friends Rei is the opposite. He is always the top student. Nagisa wondered if Rei studies when he says he can't come over. Rei never studies. What is Nagisa thinking? "Rei is so smart, he probably memorizes words straight from textbooks!" Nagisa thought to himself.

Nagisa wiped his forehead. He sat up from his current state of random sleeping positions. Why is he thinking of Rei at 3 am? Nagisa hopped out of his bed and walked into his bathroom. When he walked in, he saw a pair of socks on the bath mat. He picked them up and studied them. They certainly weren't his. They were purple with butterflies and cut off at the ankles. "Rei-chan, this gives me a reason to go to your house!" Nagisa said out loud. Nagisa suddenly remembered it was 3 am. He used the bathroom and went back to bed.

~ Next Morning ~

Nagisa sprinted to class. He woke up late from staying up and thinking about Rei and his studying schedules. He still found it quite odd that studying and Rei were his thoughts at 3 am. He shook his head to get rid of the idea and ran into his first class.

Nagisa was surprised to see Rei sitting in his desk. Rei looked tired. His usual bright violet eyes looked as dark as muddy water. His hair was messy, almost as messy as Nagisa's own bedhead. His tie was loose and wrinkled. Nagisa walked over and poked Rei' right shoulder.

"Good morning Rei-chan! Did you get any sleep?"

"Morning Nagisa-kun. Um, it was a long night last night. Uh... studying and all." Rei portrayed a weak smile. Nagisa gave him a sincere grin. Rei was lying and Nagisa knew it. He decided not to pressure Rei and went along with his story.

"Well, can I come over to your house after school today?" Nagisa asked.
Rei gave Nagisa a confused look. They normally went over to Nagisa's.

"I thought we could study together. I'm having trouble with mathematics and you're really good at that class." Nagisa quickly said. He turned away from Rei and cleared his throat. "Pretty please?"

Rei pushed Nagisa's shoulder ever so slightly. "Sure, but you better bring your textbooks. I'm not lending you mine." Rei smiled for real this time. Nagisa laughed. Then, he retreated to his own desk as the home room teacher walked in.

~ At Rei' House ~

Nagisa walked in. They both ran home. Even though Rei isn't on the track team anymore, he still enjoys sprinting. Nagisa doesn't mind it because he is in shape, but today Nagisa just wanted to walk and talk the whole way. On the other hand, Rei ran faster than usual.

Rei opened the door. The house was cold and empty. Rei took off his shoes and put on a pair of slippers. He grabbed a pair and threw them gently to Nagisa. The ones he gave Nagisa were yellow, Nagisa's favorite color. Nagisa's face flushed. "It's just a coincidence that they are yellow." Nagisa told himself.

Rei looked over to Nagisa and gave him an attractive sideways smile. Nagisa blushed and turned to his backpack. He pulled out his textbook. "What was that for?" Nagisa thought.

"Mathematics, huh?" Rei smirked. "You've never been good at that class."

"Yea, yea, I know. Don't tease me, Rei-chan." Nagisa looked through his backpack and pulled out Rei's purple socks. "These yours? Probably when you stayed over at my house and I beat you at Mortal Kombat." Nagisa smirked this time. Rei stuck out his tongue and grabbed his socks.

"Thanks, but now let's get to the stuff we are supposed to be doing." Rei opened his bag and pulled out his own book. An envelope fell out of his bag. Nagisa turned his head to read without it was from. It looked like a love letter. Heart stickers were all over it. Rei finally noticed it and laughed.

"Oh yes the love letter. You know Hina-chan? The girl who loves every boy? Well I guess it was my turn for her infatuation. I turned her down." Rei said this as if Nagisa was concerned if he had a girlfriend. "I wouldn't be upset, would I?" Nagisa thought to himself.

"Cmon Nagisa, focus." Rei said to Nagisa while grabbing his hand. Rei squeezed Nagisa's hand. "Don't you wanna pass?"

"Yea, I wanna pass."
