Reigisa : What Friendship Can Lead To

Chapter 4

Makoto looked at Nagisa and studied his face. He was blushing, but his answer seemed very sincere.

"That's wonderful Nagisa. I think you should go for it!" Makoto smiled when he exclaimed this.

"But, Mako, he said he liked someone." Nagisa whimpered.

"Yes, but what if that person is you?" Makoto said. "You guys are very different, but opposites attract. And, without you, Rei wouldn't even be in the swim club. He's learned a lot from you."

"Thank you Makoto. What if I buy some ramen to bring to him? Since, well, everyone thinks he is sick." Nagisa asked.

"That's a lovely idea." Makoto said. "Well, let's go practice now."

"Yea, ok."

~ End Of Practice ~

Nagisa walked to a ramen shop. He checked his bag for money and found a twenty dollar bill (2,115 yen). He was walking and he lightly whistled all the way to the diner with sweet potato fries. Nagisa figured Rei would want these icky things as well. Nagisa laughed. What a weirdo.

Nagisa sat down and waited for the fries to be made. He looked at his watch. 6:30. Basically dinner time, if Rei preferred to eat earlier. Nagisa smiled. He was gonna do it. He was going to tell Rei that he likes him. Nagisa beamed happiness. It was almost as if he was the sun and everyone else was revolving around him. Nothing could bring him down! Except if Rei rejects him.

Nagisa shivered. What if he does reject him? What will be of their friendship? "Oh no! I can't do this!" Nagisa whispered to his shaking hands. What if Rei isn't even in to boys? "I gotta stop worrying! If he rejects me, I'll say it was a prank!" Nagisa thought. Nagisa stood up and walked over to the counter with his awaiting sweet potato fries. He grabbed them and sprinted to Rei's house, ramen and fries in his hands.

~ At Rei's ~

Nagisa knocked on the door. Then he did it again. Then he pushed to door bell. Again. "Why isn't he answering?" Nagisa said. Nagisa walked over to the nearest window and peered through. He saw Rei. He was fast asleep on the couch. Nagisa exhaled a deep sigh. He was so concerned. Nagisa plastered his face against the window and yelled. "REI HEY REI!!"

"What the hell?" Rei mumbled. He looked up and saw his best friend's face against his living room window. Rei giggled. He stood up and opened the door. 

"Hello Rei? I brought you some ramen and nasty fries. Were you sick?" Nagisa quickly asked.

"You could say that." Rei mumbled.

"Huh?" Nagisa asked.

"Oh nothing. Yes! I love this ramen! How'd you know?" Rei exclaimed. He took the food from Nagisa's hands.

"I am your best friend. I should know a couple things about you by now." Nagisa teased. Rei stuck out his tongue.

They walked back over to the couch and sat down. There were random papers all over the coffee table. Rei quickly grabbed them all and shoved them into his backpack, which was placed right next to the couch. 

"Rei, that girl," Nagisa started.

"Let's not talk about her." Rei said bluntly.

"Ok, whatever you want Rei." Nagisa looked at Rei. He was eating those nasty fries. He looked weak and tired. His hair flopped onto his face. Nagisa pushed it back.

"Oh! I'm sorry!" Nagisa said and quickly pulled his hand back. He turned and blushed.

"What's with you recently? You act all afraid around me." Rei laughed.

"Rei, I" Nagisa mumbled.

Rei grabbed Nagisa's face and had Nagisa look at him. "What is it, Nagisa?"

"Rei, I have feelings for you." Nagisa inhaled. There was no going back now.

Rei stared at Nagisa. He shifted his sitting position. "I've made him uncomfortable, haven't I?" Nagisa asked himself in his head.

"You know when I said I liked someone and I was afraid it's ruin our relationship? I was talking about you, Nagisa. I like you too." Rei smiled.

Nagisa's face beamed. He'd never been this happy before. He jumped on Rei and gave him a tight hug. Rei's eyes widened by Nagisa's sudden actions. He closed his eyes and hugged Nagisa back.

Rei started to exhale. He sounded awful.

"Rei? Are you ok?" Nagisa asked in a scared tone.

"Yea I just haven't been feeling good recently. Although, now that you are here, I feel happier." Rei flirted. He laughed and grabbed Nagisa's face. Nagisa blushed as Rei kissed him. Nagisa hugged Rei' waist with his hands and melted into Rei's kiss. He's never been so close to someone before. Rei released Nagisa and smiled.

"I love you, Nagisa."

"I love you, too Rei."
