My name is Alice White and this is the story of how I met the Mad Hatter.
Looking out the window is torture. Everything surrounding me is unfamiliar. It's new.
My father got this huge promotion thing that caused our entire family to move from New York to California. It's a ginormous change and I hate it. Currently, we are driving to the place I'll call my house soon. I won't call it home. Home is where my heart it, and I left my heart in New York with my friends.
The big city I used to know so well, has disappeared from my life entirely. Even though this trip is utterly depressing to think about, there are some decent things to look forward to. For instance, I can go to the beach whenever I want. Especially since our new house is supposedly right next to the most magnificent beach in the entire world. At least, that's how my mother put it, not that I believe what she says.
"We're here honey!! Please do me a favor and at least try to have a positive attitude about this. This change is for the better! It'll change our lives!" My mother said as she exited the car to unload our luggage with the help of my father.
"I'll try, but I can't promise anything." I reply as I walk to the porch of our new house. The house was beautiful, but very fancy. Way too fancy for my taste.
I walk through the fancy white door and I was greeted with a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Well this house looks nice, I guess.
"Alice! Come and get your bags!" My father shouted at me from outside. I walk back out the door and walk to the car to grab the few bags that were mine.
"Oh my gosh!! Am I too late!! Oh gosh, I'm too late aren't I?! Dang it I'm too late!" I look to right to see a girl with brown hair with purple tips and brown eyes rambling about how she's too late.
"What exactly are you late for?" I asked confused. I mean, this random girl comes up to me and starts to ramble, you'd be confused too!
"Oh I'm so sorry!! I rambled again didn't I? Sorry! I was late! You totally already have a best friend! I'll just leave! Sorry to waste your time!" She then started to walk away mumbling how she was sorry and that she was too late.
I rushed after her and gasped her wrist, "My name is Alice White. Nice to meet you." I told mystery girl with a smile.
"Hi, my name is Alyssa, but my friends call me Bunny! I live next door!" Well, she seems very hyperactive. (Hehe it's me!)
"Well Bunny, nice to know. So, why are you here? Should you be, oh I don't know, at your house?" Her eyes widened in shock, she then smacked herself herself in the forehead. That seemed like it would've hurt.
"Oh right! Sorry I get distracted easily! I'm here to be your new best friend!! I mean, your new here and I don't have many friends. So I thought we could be friends! Can we?" She asked me seeming to become more shy.
"Of course we can!!" I responded enthusiastically while I gave her a hug. She smiled from ear to ear while she hugged me back.
"Well newly acquired best friend, I have to go now! But I'll hopefully see you at school! Bye!" She waved as she walked away, once again muttering about how she was late.
"Well, she's..unique." I muttered under my breathe as I finally brought my bags into the house.
"Bring your stuff to your room, then you can go do whatever you want."
Maybe this new change, wouldn't be so bad after all. But I can make any assumptions just yet.
