Kids are falling behind her. Wind is blowing in front of her. Cream is staining the floor. The leader falls, the agent stands alone. This scene is familiar to her.

Familiar in a way she can't describe. She has defended herself many times against this exact thing, yet it feels like her first dance. Every time, it is the same.

She lifts up her notebook and opens it. The motion seems impulsive now. She begins to scribble on the page, the anxiety coursing through her blood fueling her.

She lifts up a gadget. She knows there is a way to close the unit. Solid triangles meeting in the middle. Or maybe going outward.

The storm continues.

She presses the button on the gadget a couple of times; she loses track how many. She can't get the last triangle in. She almost drops the gadget in frustration.

The scientist steps forward. He makes a promise he will uphold for a long time.

"I'll cover you."

For a second, the path is clear. She shoots. The storm abruptly stops. She takes a breath of relief, then a breath of anger, then a breath of pain and betrayal.

Her mind keeps focusing on the bringer of this storm. The person she once called a partner. How could he have done this?

This catastrophe...

She promised herself Todd would regret this day for the rest of his life. Then she secretly swore to never hurt him.

Hasn't seen the last of me...

She couldn't hurt him, not even after what he'd done. Nobody was perfect. Not even the perfect mathmatician. She put her loose chocolate hair into a ponytail, and wiped the cream off her face. She felt her surroundings slipping away as she opened her eyes to the lights of a doctor's room.

Strange, strange weather...
