Alfenheims Warlords (a SAO fanfic)

Chapter 8

Kirito ducked the wild swing of the razor-sharp vine as the plant like monster spat some poisonous globs at him and as he rolled out of the way, he dashed under another swing and gave a frustrated sigh.

The group, Kirito, Asuna, Lisbeth, Silica, Leafa, Klein, and Agil, were all clearing out the usual hunting spots as they were trying to farm up some XP before the huge event that everyone as talking about.

But so far, as Kirito rolled under another attack aimed at him, he hadn't gotten much luck and as he blocked as glob on his sword, he was the only one truly having fits with leveling up. Everyone else had managed to get to level 125 today but he was still hallway through LV.124 and as he ducked another of the plants vines, he finally found an opening and dashed forward as both of his blades slashed it apart.

It screamed as it soon disappeared into glittering VR shards and as he put up his swords into their sheathes, he gave a small frown as he currently didn't like the fact that he been even hit by the thing at the beginning when it had ambushed him. He was getting too soft again.

But, luckily enough, he wasn't too soft yet and as he looked across the way towards the others, he saw Asuna as she used her wand to heal Klein, who was apparently deciding to take on the giant, razor-clawed butterfly that way on his own.

"Come here!" He shouted as he jumped and as fire leapt along his katana's blade, he slashed it down on the mob just as it tried to slice him up again.

It screeched as his blade slashed a long, red wound along its body and as he landed, he used his wings to dash away just as Lisbeth came in with her mace and hammered its head, lightning leaping into the mobs body from her mace's head.

It gave a loud, shrill call of defeat and as it hit the ground, it too soon disintegrated into VR shards and as the XP was divided up, Silica smiled as she said, "Boy, these monsters are getting stronger..."

"I just hope the event has some good loot in it... I hear some new armor types and some new minerals are in it.." said Klein from nearby as he gave a warm smile.

"Oh, yeah I heard about those... I can't wait to try and get some of those drops and make them into some good armor." said Lisbeth as she hefted her mace along with her slightly larger buckler on her other forearm.

As Yui floated down to Kirito's shoulder, she looked at him with a smile as Asuna walked over just as she suddenly asked, "Hey... anyone know where Sinon is?"

Thankfully enough, Sinon appeared and as she flew down, her tail swished-side to side as her ears twitched as she suddenly sat down and put her face in her hands as everyone looked at her. Silica tilted her head as she walked towards Sinon as Pina was mounted on Silica's shoulder as she asked the older girl, "Are you okay?"

"Oh... eh..." Sinon looked at them as she then asked them, "Anyone of you ever have a Love-hate relationship before?"

Almost every girl besides Sinon glanced at Kirito, who looked at them all a bit clueless before Lisbeth asked Sinon, "What happened this time?"

"Well... I met a guy just recently on GGO... a American guy.." said Sinon.

"An American? What is one of them doing on a Japanese server?" asked Klein. "Was he messing around or something?"

"No.. he came over from America due to work that he was asked to come here for.." said Sinon.

"Anyway, I played against him and he's good... kinda like Kirito is...

"Well... he asked me to teach him Japanese... and... and..."

Sinon suddenly put her hands to her head as she shouted out with no warning, "AND HE'S TOTALLY THE MOST ARROGANT PLAYER THAT I SWEAR CANT TAKE A HINT WHEN HE SHOULD DIE AND I HOPE I GET TO KILL HIM IN THE NEXT BULLET OF BULLETS THAT SMILING, NO GOOD, DIRTY, HACKING, BOY!!!!"
