Once back in the rooms we eagerly changed into our pyjamas. I pulled on my brothers old grey University jumper and a pair of leggings with fuzzy socks. Alli was tugging on a pair of fleecy trackies and a loose white top that said "Kiss Me."
"Come on," she said, grabbing a packet of crisps and a few bars of chocolate from under her bed. I tucked some Haribo under my arm and piled my long wavy brown hair into a messy bun.
"We usually chill in Marie and Sophie's room cos it's the biggest," she explained as we rounded the corner and walked down the hall. When we got in Nicole, Sophie and Marie were all lounging on the floor. Sophie was sat in the frog turnout stretch, her feet flat on the floor, and I was immediately envious. Turnout was something I struggled with. "Hey," Alli said, sitting down to join them and patting the space next to her for me. She dumped her chocolate and crisps in the growing pile on the center of the floor.
"MINE!" Marie shouted, reaching out to grab a large shrink wrapped brownie from the pile that Nicole was reaching towards. "Mother made it for me! I just put it in the pile so it looked like I contributed something!" I laughed and Nicole playfully swiped her over the head.
"Rude!" she teased grabbing a Cadbury bar instead. The door opened and the rest of the girls walked in, all dressed in comfy pyjamas and make-up free. They were followed by Holly, intent on her obviously new iPhone5s, dressed in what looked like Parisian silk pyjamas from a designer label in France. The loose shorts showed off her toned legs, and the flowy top hit just above her flat stomach. And her hair somehow still looked perfect. "Only she could use this as an excuse to wear something like that" I heard Marie mutter. Holly's head shot up, her hazel eyes steely. "At least I don't look like a 5 year old," she replied, raising her eyebrows at Marie's giraffe onzie, complete with a giraffe head hood. Marie rolled her eyes.
"Relax Holly. It's not like anyone important is going to see us."
"Oh really?" Holly asked, raising a perfect eyebrow. "Because I was thinking about slipping outside to see Nate you know..." She smirked as Marie frowned.
"That's the American Guy" Alli whispered quietly, and I frowned. Holly was obviously enjoying taunting Marie.
"Whatever Holly," Marie said sharply trying to brush her off, but we could tell the comment bugged her more than she let on.
Holly smiled triumphantly and turned to Nicole. She put on a sugar sweet voice. "Nicole honey, I'm just trying to help you, you know chocolate makes you fat right?" Nicole glanced down at her chocolate bar. She was starting on her third-the other wrappers piled in her lap. "Just saying," Holly said with a fake smile as Nicole blushed and put down the chocolate she was eating.
"You lot are boring," she continued taking her hair down from a loose pony tale and grabbing an oversized jumper from her bag in the hallway. "I'm going outside for some more exciting company," she said, looking at Marie with a smirk. "I'll tell Nate you said hi, okay?"
"Whatever," Marie spit back, clenching her fists.
"Bye," Holly called over her shoulder. "Don't miss me," then slammed the door behind her.
"We won't," Alli muttered.
"Is she always this bad?" I asked, incredulous that someone could be so mean.
Alli frowned. "Not always, but she's got it in for some people." She glanced at Marie. "But it changes all the time. Once casting and competition in class starts amping it up, she's unbearable, especially if she thinks you're a competitor. And its frustrating because teachers and guys love her-she's an amazing dancer, straight A student and amazing flirt. Her personality just ruins it though."
I grimanced. "Lucky she's not my roomate." I said, and Alli agreed. I looked longingly at the pile of junk food in front of me, but thinking about what Holly had said, it didn't look so appetizing after all.
"Ohhhh so tell me what Mrs. Jenkins meant about the no boys in dorms thing?!" I cried excitedly, suddenly remembering. Sophie suddenly flushed a deep pink. "Spill!" I said, laughing with the other girls.
"Well," Marie said micheviously, her honey colured eyes sparkling.
"Oh nooo" Sophie moaned, covering her face with her hands. "She's gonna turn this into something awful!" Marie laughed and turned to me.
"Basically, she said, drawing out each syllable. "Sophie and this boy Tom sort of had this fling last year. And she decided that on the last day of school, it would be fun to bring him into her room..." she shot a glance and Soph who was still blushing. "One thing led to another and..."
I gasped. "NO! You didn't!?! Not in your room!" I cried in astonishment.
"NO NO NO" Sophie exclaimed inbetween spurts of laughter. "Nothing like that happened! We din't do anything bad!"
"Please," Marie scoffed, grinning madly. "Hardcore making out in your own dorm room isn't bad!?" she taunted with a wink.
"Sophie!" I exclaimed grinning at her."I didn't know you had it in you!" Actually, I could see it. Sophie was stunning, any guy would be lucky to have her. "So what happened?" I continued.
"Mrs. Jenkins happened to walk in a few minutes later. I was in soo much trouble!!" Sophie explained.
"BUSTED!" Marie exclaimed and Sophie playfully hit her over the head with a bag of crisps.
"Tom was in Year 11 at the time though, he's gone to the Royal Ballet School now." She continued. "So we're kind of over now. I miss him though. We still text a bit."
"They were adorable," Alli said smiling as Sophie flushed again.
"Okay Okay!" she cried laughing and grabbed a pack of Cadbury Buttons. "Enough about me and my sad love life!" We laughed.
"So whats the scoop on the guys in our year?" I asked, curious as to what they would say. Everyone grinned.
"We actually have loads of fit, I mean, hot,"Alli corrected, winking at me, "guys in our year."
"Yeah! Nate is gorgeous though," Marie said dreamily, and Nicole wacked her in the head with a packet of Haribo to snap her out of her daydreams.
"Holly flirts with all of them." Sophie announced offering me a handful of buttons, which I took. "But don't worry about her. I can't wait for you to meet Nate! It should be nice to have another American to talk to!"
"Definitly! I've been feeling a bit homesick with all y'all's British lingo!" The girls laughed. Suddenly Marie gasped.
"ITS 2 MINUTES TILL 10:00 RUN!" She screeched, laughing. We all hastily gathered up the food and sprinted towards the door. "See you bright and early tomorrow!" She called as we swung out the door.
"Byeee!" we shouted down the hallway. As soon as we reached the room, I chucked the junk food into the closet, slammed the door, and leapt into bed just as Mrs. Jenkins knocked and peeked in. She smiled when she say us ready and tucked in.
"Goodnight girls," she said, giving us a friendly smile.
"Night!" we chimed in unison. I closed my eyes and thought about what tomorrow would bring. I fell asleep before I got halfway through the day.
