CHAPTER 7 - NADINE MEANING HOPE

He must have read her thoughts and initially sent a lot of people to pay attention to her because the next day. People from all over crowding into her room asking question after question trying to earn details of the fight and her details.

She loved the attention as she smiled at the small children burrowing in her lap. Some of the teenage girls on her bed smiling and gossiping and briefing her on the palace. They made it a spectacle to tell her everything about Raees' childhood.

For example:

-Raees was quite a fat child.

-He used to be loud, confident and cocky.

-He is a severe mummy's boy

-He was teased a lot.

-Has a love for horse and camal racing.

There where many more stories thrown around but they where stopped when an older woman stepped into the room immediately silencing. She walked toward Nadine and scrutinized her every detail. She finally smiled. "My son has picked a beautiful wife" she smiled praising Nadine.

They burst out in jeers as her mother-in-law sat down with her and adored her beauty. She asked a few questions about her brother, parents and family. More details and stories where passed around.

Raees decided to suddenly stand by the door way and see the smile on Nadine's face. She was definitely not going to leave the palace, at least not without her seeing his wife. If Nadine wanted to make a run he needed her to be a display of his power.

He glanced at his mother stroking the cheek of his bride and thought it to be a moment to remember. Raees knew that this is a wrong way of revenge but it couldn't be put off. He tried to hide her but gave in. The sooner he got in with the plan, the better.

His long eyelashes swept his cheeks as he stood in the silent hallways. He examined Nadine's features and how the girls reacted to her. Everyone know Nadine: Princess of Syria. Princess of hope.

She doesn't know her own story but it was whispered among royals and powerful men her story. The once dying queen of Syria promised her young son a sister and her husband a beloved daughter. Her body weakened everyday as the chance of a hemorrhage was huge for her. The sultan pilgrimages to Makkah at the time.

There was a sandstorm brewing outside and ghastly storms. Every peak of the palace was closed off and blocked to stop the residue. The young queen all alone in her bed. Syria: Dear old Syria was falling bankrupt and could barely make it since a politician would take the title from him. He was at an all time low so he turned to god. It was spoken that it was a shame that God was his last resort.

During the midnight of the dark hour the queen was all alone with her sleeping son cradled next to her. Pains hit her with full force as a crack of thunder hit the background as the same velocity was on her womb. Startled by the screams: the prince awoke to his dying mother. His fear settled watching his mother clutching her large stomach and cry at him. He could not make out her words.
