Grover

Hades tried going after his kid but the other one wouldn't let him or Frank go so I went to find him.

And I found him sitting over at the edge of the River Lithe. One slip and your memory is gone forever.

He sensed a presence.

"Go away."

I went over and sat next to him.

"Its takes more than that to drive me away," I tell the son of Hades.

So we sat there in silence until he said one thing.

"What would happen," he set up for me," if I just jumped in right now. Forgot everything. My name, my family, everything. And just started over from scratch. What do you think would happen?"

"Honestly." I remarked. "I don't think it'd help, Nico. And I don't think you actually want to do that. I think you're just tired."

"Of what? Living? Tell me something I don't know."

"Nico, it doesn't have to be like this." I express to the son of Hades. "I know with Hazel its hard right now, you feel like you've failed both her and yourself and after Bianca that's never an easy thing. Trust me, I-"

"Yeah. How would you know? Just because you can sense emotions and crap doesn't mean-"

"Because I put myself through it, too, Nico." I broke it to him. "When I recruited Thalia, she died. When I recruited Percy I passed out, he almost died and your father abducted Sally with the Minotaur. Because all I had been was a failure who couldn't even bring a demigod to camp, much less find Pan. Because that's what I thought. You and Bianca were my first successful recruits and I had to send a distress call and we lost Annabeth in the process and had Apollo bring us to camp. I put myself where you are, Nico. I thought I would never evaluate to anything in my life. As Percy said, although not about me, I'm a Nobody from a family of Nobodies."

"And the whole-"

"I never knew my mother, both my Uncle and my father died looking for Pan. Uncle was turned to stone by Medusa. I never found out what happened to my dad. Who knows. Maybe he's alive off somewhere with another satyr, happy. He deserves it."

"Oh gods, Grover. I didn't-"

"That's because I don't talk about it, Nico. Kind of like you." I related to him. "Because I figure the less its brought up the less grief I have to face. The last time I did was when Percy was 12 and he was wondering why I wanted my Searchers License so bad. And he called me insane for it. He insisted I was crazy."

"But he supported you anyways, right?" Nico asked me," because that's just Percy, it's who he is. So caught up in everyone else's well-being, he managed to forget about his own."

We left the Lithe and went back to the palace. Where Hades and Frank were calmly talking with Hazel.

"Hey, Nico," Hazel spoke two words I never thought she'd use together again," sorry about what I, uh said.... Can we talk?"

Nico

"That depends on you." I managed not to show my shock. Depression at least helped with that. For once.

The others leave the room, leaving just us.

"I... I was stupid, Nico," she flat out admitted to me," I got so fucking mad because you had this other sister and your mom. I forgot the factor that they were dead. I... Gods I don't even know what happened to me. I guess I got jealous? I don't know. I didn't want to constantly be reminded of my mom on top of it and just... I shouldn't have said what I did. Both in the cabin and here and everywhere else. You're my brother and  sometimes you're as clueless as can be about it sometimes but you're doing what you can. I guess I also didn't connect me leaving and your depression worsening."
