Chapter 10: The Winner

We started singing and elaborating every lyrics of the song. The crowd was loving it. We sang our part now it was girls turn and they picked the song up very good. It was perfect. It was as if we practiced  the song for weeks, which we didn't. Th girls were very good. and the audience was loving the performance.  They were hooting and cheering nonstop. We were all pretty proud of each other. The song finished while we boys bowed down the girl raised their fist. The judges were giving us point. The show presenter came running in. 'Wasn't it a great?', he asked everyone and the crowd replied by giving us a  loud cheer. they were going to announce the winner after a while.

'Where were you two?', our team mate asked me and Park. We tried to ignore her but it wasn't possible. She kept staring us . Park tried answering but kept hesitating. 'We were caught in a traffic' i answered they with a little giggle. But Akimo interfered us and said that they were obviously kissing. Look at them she said,' Everything is clear. They are sweating and wont look in each others eyes and they are blushing so much. There was a table of snack that you could eat  nearby us. 'Oh,food... I am so hungry', I said trying to divert the attention from me and Park. We hung around the table till our name was called and finally our name was called. They asked only the captain to come since it was us who wanted to prove who was best boys of girls? They final test was only Captain of boy vs Captain of gils. Park entered as a celebrity, waving and giving flying kisses. I though she was such a show off. The presenter was standing in the middle of the stage and asked each of us to stand at one of his side. He patted on my right shoulder and started explaining. How this last round is going to work. He explained:

'Both of the party do not know what the song is. They will show a title of a song in the big screen behind us for five seconds, so you can prepare. and you must sing the song without the music. The first one to guess and the sing will be boy's captain. Each representative can only sing one time so don't make any mistakes.'

One by one the letters were shown. 'Somewhere only we now'. The seconds started ticking.  5 sec... oh, dang it what is it, i thought. 4 sec... oh, wait i have heard this song on voice, i think. 3 sec... that is  the song. 2 sec... I am going to do it. 1 sec... I can do it.

I sang the song. The whole place was dead silent. I finished the song and opened my eyes. It was still quiet. It was scary. Then suddenly people started clapping and cheering. I was very pleased with the result. But it didn't last to long when Park stepped forward.  The screen showed the song title. 'Nightingale'. Everyone laughed.'A fitting song for our school's Nightingale', someone shouted from the crowd; I was looking at Park and she was shimirking.

She sang the song. It was amazing. I was stunned by her voiced. I wan imagine why people call her 'The Nightingale'. I was standing and glaring at her. Her singing was giving me chills. After she finished the song she bowed and stood right beside me.'How was I?', she asked me but i didn't reply because she was amazing. It was time to know who the winner was. The singer who came to judge us stood up, walked up to us and held our hand while naming the winner,

'The winner of this game is Park and her gals.'

An obvious win...
