Chapter 8. – 10 questions?

Hope’s POV. (:

“Momma!” Tee screamed as she ran into the shop smiling. Tommy, Joshy and I stood back at the door as Tee ran over to her mother who was mulling over the coffee machine behind the counter.

“Sweetie!” A woman who seemed to be Tee’s mother cheered as she enveloped her in a bear hug. “How are you darling and where is Thomas? I haven’t seen my boy since Saturday at dinner.” Her mother glanced around the shop until she spotted us both by the door.

“Momma, this is Hope, the girl I was telling you about and her little brother.” She stated pulling her mother over to us.

“It’s lovely to meet you Hope, I hope you like it here in California.” She stretched out her hand in a friendly hand shake and then pulled me in for a motherly hug.

“Lovely to meet you too – uh” My head boggled as I tried to think if Tee mentioned her mother’s name.

“Michelle.” She stated smiling at me.

“It is lovely to meet you Michelle.” I smiled back at her. She was a very beautiful woman with the same blonde hair as Tee and the Cali tanned skin. She practically looked like an older Tee – her mid 40’s – although instead of Tee’s honey brown eyes, she has emerald green eyes.

“And who is this handsome young boy?” Michelle turned to Joshy, kneeling down to his height. His early shyness gone he spoke up proudly.

“I’m Josh, but you can call me Joshy, Hope always does.” He was pretty timid when he had come through the door but now he was definitely out of his shell. He smiled brightly toward her, releasing all his cuteness. Michelle laughed and she erected herself.

“Ok guys, so what do you want to eat?” She clapped her hands together gaining our attention. Michelle turned to Joshy first. “What would you like to eat sweetie?” She smiled warmly at him.

“Uh, could I have a cheese toasty please? There is nothing better than melted cheese.” He licked his lips.

“A grilled cheese sandwich, of course and how about you honey?” She looked over towards me. My stomach started to growl a little embarrassingly.

“Hmm, a double cheese burger and chips?” I asked as politely as I could around my disturbing stomach noises.

  “Sure thing.”

“Ha! Chips, that is so British… Hope here we call them fries.” Tommy said smirking at me. I stuck my tongue out at him.

“Well I happen to be Scottish so whatever.” Tee and Tommy both stood giggling at me as I huffed.

“Now, now, be nice to hope you two. And what do you want?” She asked them both.

“The same as Hope!” both of them said simultaneously.

“Ok, it will be ready in about 10 minutes, go get a table.” We strolled over to the back of the petite café and found a table for 4 and sat down. The café was small but very homey and popular, there was even a small fire place in the corner with luxurious couches next to it, and it looked so welcoming. The smells coming from the kitchen and coffee bar were intoxicating, Tee’s family is really lucky to have this place, it’s amazing.

A little while later all of us had finished eating our fantastic and by fantastic I mean heavenly food. I even managed to convince Michelle to teach my mother to cook. We hung around the café until closing time at 6pm and I had to take Joshy home, before I went back to Tee’s house. Exiting the shop Joshy and I start to head homeward. It’s weird that we have only been here around 2 days and I can already call this place home.
