Chapter 9. –

I was sitting with Tee and Tommy at lunch enjoying my awesome sandwich when all of a sudden my phone started blaring, and when I say blaring I mean it, Papa Roach – Last Resort.

"CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES THIS IS MY LAST RESORT. SUFFOCATION, NO BREATHING, DON’T GIVE A F**K IF I CUT MY ARM BLEEDING."… Once I heard my ring-tone for Caitlin and instantly perked up. Papa Roach is her favourite band; she is the little in-the-closet-scene-kid of our group, so I knew it was her instantly. Pressing accept I never even got to say hello before she was screaming down the line to me.

"HOPE BRADLEY! HOW VERY DARE YOU! YOU HAVE NOT CALLED ME SINCE YOU GOT TO CALIFORNIA! I AM DREADFULLY HURT, good thing I love you woman!" Ah typical Caitlin, she was a really shy girl, unless you knew her, then she is a big ball of random hyper-ness, which seriously springs from nowhere.

"I’m sorry! Jeesh, I’ve been a little busy-"From the corner of my eye I saw Tee and Tommy laughing, I guess they heard her.

"SAY WHAT?! Too busy to not call your best friend and tell them you’re alive. I’m truly hurt." She pretended to cry as I laughed at her being dramatic.

"Aw, Katie you know I love you woman! Now calm down and let me speak."

"Fiiiiiine."

"Everything has been pretty hectic so far, I was planning on calling you tonight, but no, you’re just too impatient." I couldn’t help smile, gosh I miss her and the rest of them so much.

"Pfft! whatever, anyway, how’s it going there? Is there any cute boys? And have you found yourself a fancy man yet? Oh and is there anyone that I could borrow? Oh and how are my mama and daddy number 2 doing and my baby brother?" I’m surprised that she never runs out of breath, I’d be gasping for air if I was her.

"Slow down woman! I’m not going anywhere; you can talk at a normal pace."

"Whatever! Just answer my questions!" I sighed before continuing.

"Fine, it’s going good so far, I’ve met two new friends, and you’re going to love them when you finally get to visit! But there is this one ass that has got on my nerves since I got here and his loyal follower who is a bee with and itch. And yes there are-"

"Oh, yey! How many are there? And don’t worry I’ll ninja kick his butt for you love."

"Don’t interrupt and please keep all questions till the end thank you." I said in a commentator’s voice. I heard her huff at the other end of the line and had to stifle a giggle that threatened to leave my mouth.

"Uh I’m not sure, but I think so, I have a date on Thursday anyway." I saw Tee’s eyes light up at this, oh boy, I forgot that I hadn’t told her yet.

"And probably but you would have to go hunting for them. And Mama, dad and Joshy are doing great, Joshy has a little crush, it’s too cute." I heard her take in a deep breath oh great here goes.

"OH, EM, EF, GE! You have been there less than a week and you have an enemy and a date, girl, you work fast! But I totally want to know how this date goes and if you don’t spill I’ll get Lil to help me out! And good to hear, but Aw, my little baby brother is all grown up even though he is only 7. Is she good to him? If she isn’t I’ll be having words!"

"Ha! You’re funny." I said sarcastically, she totally just made me sound like I sleep around! I’m a virgin for goodness sake. "And OK, don’t get your knickers in a twist; I’ll let you know how it goes. Dude! The little girl is 6! I don’t think she knows how she is supposed to treat someone good in a relationship, and you will be staying away from said little girl, you have had issues with them in the past." I looked towards Tee and Tommy to see that they were enjoying our little ‘chat’, gosh I have strange friends, and I think this is them just realising that the strangeness stretches back to Scotland also.
