Reader runs into Roadhog and is intimidated, but finds out he's not all that bad.
The market in this is kinda like a Farmer's Market sort of setup
It was a warm day, just the right temperature to wear jeans and a t-shirt while walking around without freezing or overheating. So you decided to take this oportunity to explore around. You had just moved into a small apartment a couple days before and up until now hadn't had much time to see what there was to see.
Walking through the busy market, you saw many interesting shops that caught your eye. But most of them were the kind that your eyes say yes and your wallet says a solid no. You sighed, paying more attention to the shops than where you were walking until you ran into something, well someone. You fell and looked up, immediately apologozing, but paused when you saw the man standing above you. He towered over you, and wore a mask. You began to try and get up and he extended a hand to help you up.
"I'm really sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going," You said quickly, realizing the man didn't just tower over you while you were on the ground. His only reply was a grunt before he began to walk away. Once he had dissapeared from sight, you let out a breath you hadn't realized you were holding.
You continued through the market for a while and bought food, as well as some other little cheap things you liked. As it was beginning to get dark and the shops started closing up, you decided it was about time to go home. However, one shop caught your eye. Walking over to it to examine it further, you found it to be a jewelry shop specializing in necklaces and lockets. Despite knowing you couldn't afford them, you looked the ones that hadn't been packed away yet. One specifically caught your eye, a (f/c) heart shaped locket. Looking at the price, your face dropped and you decided to actually go home.
The next week you went to the market again to get groceries and other little things. This time you went to the necklace shop before they started closing up. They still had the necklace from before, but you still looked at the others to see if there were any cheaper ones that were actually affordable. However that wasn't the case. You looked at the necklace from before one last time, checking the price just in case to see if it had changed. Of course, it hadn't and you decided it would be best to leave.
This time on your way home, you heard heavy footsteps behind you. You quickened your pace, trying to get home faster, until you felt a large hand on your shoulder. You opened your mouth to scream as you were turned around by none other than the man you had literally run into the week before. Your mind was racing, even more alarmed than you originally were. You looked up at him as he looked down at you, and although you couldn't see his face you could sense that he was calm.
"Don't worry," he said, his voice muffled by his mask. He removed his hand from you, and held out the other one. Looking at it, you saw the necklace you had your eye on earlier. You just stared at it until he said, "It's for you." Which took you by surprise.
"Wha- why?" You asked, very confused. To this, he gave no answer. At least verbally. He put the necklace on you, the (f/c) on it glittering a bit in the low light. "Thank you uh..." You began, but trailed off since you still didn't know his name.
"Mako."
"Thank you, Mako," You said, smiling with a slight bit of heat going to your cheeks. "Oh, I guess I should tell you my name, shouldn't I? I'm (y/n)," You extended your hand towards Mako and he shook it surprisingly light. He leaned down and slightly removed his mask to kiss you on the forehead.
"See you again (y/n)," He said, putting his mask back on.
"Yeah, see ya..." You said quietly as he walked away. You wrapped your hand around the locket and made your way home, Mako still in your mind.

Ayy I finished it! I hope this is what you wanted (:
I feel like it ended up having waaay more setup than actual stuff :/
However I do want my oneshots to have at least a little bit more setup than the first two, but what do you guys think? Do you like it better if I just jump right into it or set it up? Let me know in the comments!
Anyways, feel free to request any characters you'd like to see in an x reader! (Preferably with a scenario or at least if its fluff or angst or whatever)
