Bella

--

The sun was still vehemently hot as Monday came. Most of the students brought their umbrellas with them to fight off the heat, some didn't and just went to school without anything shading them. Antonio was one of them. The Spaniard isn't really a fan of umbrellas, thus affecting his body complexion. However, the smile on his face was much brighter and hotter than the sun on that day, so he claims that he never really notice the scorching heat.

He sure is weird.

He happily hopped inside the classroom, greeting them a warm "Good morning!", and some did answer. Bella came up to him as he took his seat, personally greeting him.

"Good morning, Antonio!"

"Buenos días! I'm sorry I wasn't able to escort you to the National Library last Saturday." he said as he awkwardly scratched the back of his head.

Bella flashed a smile to prevent Antonio from worrying about it. "It's fine, Toni! Your grandma's health is more important than the tour to the National Library! So, how is she?"

"Ah, abuela is getting better. She's eating much more than she usually does from now. Also, her medicine intake has lowered down a little."

"That's good to hear!" the Belgian sweetheart clasped her hands together as a sign of relief. "I hope your grandma gets better. See you then!" And off she goes to her seat where her friends are waiting for her.

That's right, Antonio used his grandmother as an alibi to cancel his and Bella's meeting last Saturday. It sounded so perfect, but imperfect as well. Antonio's grandmother died a long time ago, and he doesn't have any relatives left expect for his cousin and the people he is living with right now. But at least it sounded so real, right? That's all that matters, and--

SLAM.

"Hey, bastard. Let's talk after school."

Lovino, with that upside down smile which was a pretty common feature on his face, slammed his hand on the Spaniard's table. This, without doubt, called Antonio's attention. He doesn't seem affected by it though, and just smiled at the person in front of him.

"Sí? What's the matter?"

"I'll tell you later. At the rooftop, after class. Got it?"

Antonio nodded innocently, much to Lovino's chagrin. He went and sat on his seat, palm on chin, looking outside the window. Some students began to whisper to their seatmate, glancing at both Antonio and Lovino from time to time.

The Spaniard studied the Italian's face.

'He's not angry. More like, troubled. I wonder what's wrong..?'

Classes finally ended. Feliciano went home by himself when his brother told him he has something else to do; well, he didn't really went straight home. He decided to drop by Ludwig's school to come pick him up. Or spend time with him. Whichever was available.

The two males went together at the school rooftop, but none of them exchanged any words as they made their way there. As they arrived, Lovino took a deep breath first, not facing the Spaniard, before facing him and started to speak.

"Why did you lie to Bella?"

This utterly surprised Antonio. Wide eyes, mouth ajar, nervous look; it was the first time Antonio pulled a face like that. And in front of Lovino too. But more importantly, how would he answer? What would he answer?
