Jake P.O.V.

"Wait, what rejection?" Jaxon asks slowly.

This time dad speaks up, "At the party Ivory met her mate. They had sex. She woke up alone. At school he rejected her. Her mate rejected her."

My wolf comes forward, wanting to take over. I push him back and focus on the people in front of me.

"Who is her mate?" I say between clenched teeth.

Suddenly my my mother explodes. "You can't be mad at her mate because you rejected her too Jake. You rejected her as your sister. But in front of adults you pretend to love her. You know I always wondered why she would tense up when one of you passed her. Now I understand. You all hurt her worse than anyone else ever could."

She is now standing in front of us, towering over us. She looks each of us in the eye before finishing.

"Because she loved you. She thought you would never hurt her. And I'm so frustrated because I didn't see it. My baby was hurt and I didn't see it." It sounds like she is talking to herself at the last part.

Dad reaches up and pulls her down onto the couch next to him. She starts sobbing onto his chest and my guilt multiplies.

Our attention is again turned to Marcus as he clears his throat.

"Ivory is moving away for a year. She is transferring into Ben's pack for her junior year. While she is over there you three are going to a training camp." He explains in a low voice. "The training camp the king holds at the castle."

My eyes widen as I look at all of them. They can't be serious. The training camp is for a full year. Some people almost die during it.

Nobody talks for a while. The silence in the room is heavy with tension. I can tell our parents are angry. I can't look at anyone, I am so full of guilt.

I know I did something bad but seriously the training camp could kill us. I look at the adults sitting across from us and none of them look happy. My mother is still sobbing while my father holds her looking pissed. Marcus is looking out the window while his mate, Caroline, holds his hand staring at the books behind us.

I slowly nod. Before a thought comes into my head.

"If everyone bullied her why does Ashton have to come?"
