A/N: This chapter honestly took me maybe two hours to write and a couple minutes to edit. 😂

But yay for longer chapters!

P.S. I've got ideas literally ricocheting off my brain and one just stuck, so let's see what you feel after reading this chapter.

P.P.S. Please read the A/N at the end.

Charlie flinched back from Malia as she snarled, snapping and grabbing at him from his spot in front of her. Charlie winced as she almost caught the sleeve of his jacket.

"Charlie, please go." Malia grunted.

Charlie bit his lips anxiously as he shrugged his jacket off, leaving him in a tucked in button up shirt and tie, "I don't think that's a good idea." He said. "I'm not really the life of the party.. I'm more of the one who always calls the police when it gets too loud.." He trailed off.

Saying that aloud made him seem a lot less cooler than what he thought himself to be. Which, by now, his coolness radar only read negative numbers; which is highly unsurprising to Charlie.

A thought broke Charlie from his small pity party, "Remember earlier this morning? I had an anxiety attack?" He asked Malia, watching her intently as she struggled against her restraints.

"Charlie-" Malia started.

"It was like all the air in my lungs was suddenly stolen." He described, by giving her a chance to speak. "Like I had suddenly become a victim of robbery, but the only thing stolen was what I needed to live. And it was utterly terrifying." He explained. "Have you ever had an anxiety attack before?"

Malia lunged at Charlie again, making him jump, "I'm having one right now!" She growled.

"Anxiety attacks aren't always not being able to breathe." Charlie told her. "Sometimes it could be completely zoning out, not being able to see or feel the people around you. Sometimes they can be silent, which-to me-are the most terrifying attacks."

He picked at his cuticles nervously as he went on talking, "And I know I use that word a lot-terrifying- but that's only because that's the one word that always comes to mind." Charlie shook his head, "It-I mean, could you imagine having an anxiety attack where no one can tell what's going on with you? It's like you're up against a hurricane of emotion and you're the only one who can save you from... Well, you." Charlie finished.

"Charlie, go!" Malia yelled, struggling against her chains, his words not having any real meaning to her in the current moment.

"I'm not leaving without you." Charlie said, turning Malia's words back to herself. "We promised to never leave without each other."
