Bryles - The New Boy

Chapter 1

Briar's POV

I'm currently leaning against the lockers while talking to my friends, until i feel a pair of strong arms wrap around me. I turn my head to see my boyfriend Jake and i lightly peck him on the lips. 

"Hey babe" 

"Hey, did you hear the news yet?" 

"What news?" I ask. The girls stop and stare curious by what they had heard.

"Some new kid is comin', pretty sure its a boy"

"Eh. As long as he doesnt annoy me, i dont care" i say, not really excited by the news. I was hoping for something a bit for intriguing 

"I hope he'll be cute!" Says Jessy and squels with excitement

"Ugh, is that all you can think about" i say in a digusted tone and roll my eyes

"What? We're not as lucky as you. You have everything. The looks, you're smart, you're talented. And you have a boyfriend." Says Rachel

"I guess" i say

"Im one lucky man, anyways i gotta go. Ill catch up with you later babe. Bye" says Jake and kisses my forehead before going

"Luv you!" I shout as he walks off and the girls coo.  How did i get so lucky, to have someone like him? 

As i continue to talk to the girls, i see a tall figure walk through the doors and i have to admit, he's pretty hot. He starts to walk over to us. 

"Hey, do you know where locker 278 is?" He asks 

"Yea, right beside me" i say with a smile

"Thanks" he says and i step aside for him

"So you're the new kid huh?" I ask

"Yep, name's Myles"

"Briar, nice to meet you" and we shake hands

"Have i met you before?" His face, its really familiar. 

"Um..not that i know of, see you around" 

"Bye" I say a bit unconvinced

That face. I've seen it somewhere. I dont know where but i cant put my finger on it.

The bell is about to ring so i walk to my first class after saying bye to the girls. On my way to English, i see Myles. He looks a bit lost so i go up to him. 

"Hey, you lost?" I ask

"Uh..yea actually"

"Here, show me your timetable" 

"Oh you have first period in my class, follow me"

"Ok, thanks"

While we walked to class, there was an awkward tension between us. So i decided to break the ice

"So..you have any hobbies or anything?"

"Yea..kind of"

"So??...what is it?."

"Ok..dont laugh at me but i actually dance"

"Really dance!?!" I say with a shocked emotion on my face. Barely anyone else in the school danced. It was cool to have someone with the same interests as you.

"Please dont laugh at me" Said Myles with a terrified look on his face

"Dont worry, its just that i dance too!" 

"Oh cool"

"Yea, anyways we're here" i say and take my seat. 

The English teacher introduced Myles and he was asked to sit beside me. I was actually happy, he seemed like a pretty cool guy. But there was still something about him. I had to figure out what it was.
