Chapter 7
"You followed him to school? Oh, cause that's not creepy at all!" Ashton argued, shaking his head in disappointment. "He probably thinks you're some kind of weirdo now!"
Luke rolled his eyes. "C'mon, do you think I'd let him actually see me?"
They were in the classroom during mid-morning break and as expected, Cally hadn't turned up. Bryana and Ivy sauntered over to ask where she was.
"She's ill," Luke replied stiffly, not really focusing on them, whilst Ashton fangirled inside about the fact that Bryana had put her hand on his shoulder. "I went to her house yesterday for our project but she suddenly came down with a fever."
Ivy nodded. "Cool. Well, if you see her around tell her I have some clothes that are too big for me that she can have."
Luke smiled back, thinking that it was kinda sweet how the girls were looking out for her. His smile disappeared when Caitlin entered with a sly smirk, eyes prying onto him like some sort of hawk.
"Hey babes," she said quietly, pecking Luke's left cheek gently as her fur coat brushed against his head. He ducked to the side, mentally deciding to pay Cally a visit later and (hopefully) bump into her brother.

"Urm, hi... didn't I tell you yesterday that Cally was ill?" Calum said with doubt, cocking an eyebrow as he held a controller in his hand. He didn't want to expose the guy version of himself to Luke too much, in case he started making assumptions. Luke ruffled the back of his head awkwardly, before seeing Michael pop up behind Calum.
"Hi Michael, are you visiting Cally too?" he asked innocently, but was returned a stony glare from the fluffy blonde. He didn't understand why but supposed that he was having a bad day.
Calum cleared his throat. "N-no, Michael's friends with both of us. Cally really isn't in any state to be visited."
But Luke didn't care about that – all that was on his mind was how husky Calum's voice was, and how his muscles contracted so perfectly as his hands grasped the side of the front door, playing with the lock.
"Oh o-okay. Could you tell her to text me then? Unless you didn't give her the number – no reason why you'd do that, but... by the way Ivy said that she had some clothes that were too big for her that she was willing to give to Cally, would you tell her that? Um... okay this is getting awkward. I'm going," he blurted, turning away to hide his blush and quickly escaping the heated scene. Behind the door, Michael burst out laughing.
"Holy fuck dude, what happened to him?! If I didn't know any better, I'd say he's in love with you or something!"
Calum groaned in annoyance and shook his head. "Really Mikey? C'mon." His thoughts suddenly drifted to what Luke had just said about Ivy giving him clothes. It seemed to peeve him a bit, especially the part about the clothes being 'too big for her'. He tried to the best of his ability to forget about it, and they hurried up the stairs to continue their game of FIFA.

"Mum, dad, how long are you guys staying for?" Calum asked at dinner time, munching on a mouthful of boiled carrots. He made an attempt to sound innocent, to make the question not sound like he was directly asking them to leave so he could resume his plan.
Joy looked at her husband and shrugged. "Our boss doesn't need us back for a couple days, but we should probably get moving. But you both need to know that we don't like leaving you at home alone. You understand that, don't you?"
