Happy was, well, Happy. There was one thing today, however, that could really improve his mood. That was seeing the lovely Carla. Even the thought of her bought hearts to his eyes and made his little heart beat that little bit faster.

Unlike his best friend Natsu, Happy was smarter then he liked people to think. He especially liked listening into conversations and then telling everyone what was happening. But today, gossip wasn't on his mind, today his mind was on Carla.

Yesterday, he found a new fish monger. One that sold the best fish he had ever had, and Happy eats a lot of fish. The only problem was that it was expensive fish, but he was sure it could do the job he so wished for it to do. Woo Carla. After all, who doesn't like fish?

So far his attempts at wooing the exceed had failed and now he knew why. It wasn't the right fish. That was why he went on the job with Natsu today. Natsu promised to buy him a fish for Carla. Currently, they were on their way back and Happy couldn't be more excited.

This meant that Carla would accept his love! That she would finally admit her feelings and they could live happily ever after together! He was so excited he couldn't stop talking about Carla to Natsu and Lucy, who came along because her rent was due.

"And then I'll give Carla the fish," Happy continued, telling his comrades his plan of action to woo Carla, "and she'll fall in love with me on the spot and we'll be so happy!" Flying around his friends with stars in his eyes,
he didn't notice the strange look Lucy was giving him.

Lucy was after all, was sure that no women ever wanted fish or that it would woo her to completely loving someone who had turned down said someone so many times before. Maybe if Happy turned into a girl, but she doubted anything like that would happen.

Natsu didn't feel the same and cheered his friend on, excited for the exceed, "that's great Happy!" Natsu then laughed and Happy finally landed on Natsu's big fluff of pink hair.

"AYE SIR!" Happy cheered, the duo then laughed together, the sound overpowering the small sigh that Lucy gave.

Lucy knew she had to say something for poor Carla's sake, "what if she doesn't want the fish?"

Natsu and Happy went quiet, she could see the clogs in their minds turning at the thought of someone not wanting food, or in Happy's case, fish. The two shook their heads in unison, utterly confused.

"Why wouldn't she want the fish?" Happy asked, his eyes big and innocent like the pictures she'd seen of him when he was a tiny exceed. If only he was really like that now, she would be inclined to believe he was nicer. But, with the constant jokes he made about her weight during the mission, she started to come to the conclusion that the exceed was anything but nice.

"Girls like pretty things, Happy," she tried to be gentle to the exceed, but knew she was getting nowhere.

"Like rainbow fish!"

"Yeah," Natsu cheered throwing his fist in the air, "Rainbow fish are awesome." Natsu could see the colours now. The girls at Fairytail like the blooming cherry blossoms, they said they were pretty and the cherry blossoms were rainbow coloured.

Spamming her own head, Lucy couldn't believe their idiocy, "no guys," she sighed, "I mean flowers, chocolates, clothes..." She trailed on but the more she spoke, the more she confused the two.
