Chapter 13

Scarlett's P.O.V

I woke to a loud crashing noise downstairs. I sighed and decided to get out of bed. I threw the thick duvet off of me and stretched my arms high above my head.

I stepped into my en suite and stripped down. I had a quick shower and got out, wrapping a blue towel around myself.

There was more crashing and yelling from the kitchen and I simply ignored it. I got my school skirt, black tights and a white blouse out of my wardrobe and slipped them on.

I ran a brush through my curly hair a few times and grabbed my black blazer from the back of my door. I slipped it on, rolling up my sleeves. I sorted out my collar and quickly grabbed my glasses before I left the room.

I ran downstairs, into the kitchen. The sight I saw before me was... Odd to say the least. Mrs Winters and Blake were in the middle of a huge arguement and Mrs Winters was holding up a frying pan, aiming it at Blake.

My eyes widened and they froze. Their heads snapped towards me and I cowered back. O-kay...

"Hey whats up every-" Chase walked in cheerily, but stopped mid sentence.

He glanced at me and shot me a dazzling smile which made my heart flutter. Then he gave me a look which clearly ment to say 'what on earth is going on here?' and I just shrugged, clueless.

"Well, I'm going to catch breakfast on the way to school so..." I trailed off backing away. Chase nodded. "Yeah me too." He grabbed my hand, sending tingles up my arm.

We sat down in the front of his car in silence then started to crack up. "Oh my god I never thought your mum would actually hit Blake, but with a frying pan?!" I doubled over, my body racking with laughter.

Chase laughed along with me, grinning brightly. I was shocked, I never saw Chase so happy. It actually warmed my heart slightly so see him so cheerful.

He started up the car after our little session of laughter. I saw that it was 7.25am on the digital clock. Woah. I had woken up way to early today.

We stopped at a local starbucks and he quickly hopped out to get me and him something.

5 Minutes later of me singing along to the radio, he got back in the car. He handed me a coffee and a chocolate muffin and  I frowned. "A bit un-healthy aint it?" I asked and Chase gave me a blank look.

"Just eat it." I blushed and rolled my eyes. I ate away at it in the car then Chase started driving. Then I turned to him."You didn't get any food for yourself."

Chase shrugged. "Doesn't matter."

I sighed and held out my muffin to him. "Here." He smiled but shook his head. "Nah it's alright."

I gave him a blank look. "Just eat it." I copied his words and he chuckled. We parked in the school car park and turned to me. His eyes flickered down to the muffin I was holding out and he quickly took a small chunk out of it and popped it in his mouth.

We got out of the car and I started off to find Marielle and Tiffany when his arm pulled me back. He pressed his lips to mine and I gasped. My first kiss was with Chase Winters.

Slightly un-expected.

I gathered all the confidence I could muster and kissed him back. His arms went around my waist and my arms went around his neck. He pulled back, breathless. He rested his forehead against mine and grinned.

"Scarlett Ryder, will you go on another date with me?" I grinned and nodded. I pecked his cheek as we walked down the hallway. Everyone gawked at us, making me blush.

"Sorry about the kiss, I just couldn't help it." I giggled at him and looked up at him.

Okay. Hold up, freeze and re-wind a bit. Did I just giggle?

Chase stared at me wide eyed and I shook my head. "Don't ever mention this again, to anyone, ever. Again. Okay?" He slowly nodded.

I found a gob-smacked Marielle waiting at our lockers, her jaw dropped. I grinned sheepishly as I aproached her. "Hey El."

She playfuly glared at me and grabbed my arm. "You are coming with me and you will tell me everything." I turned to wave goodbye at a amused lookong Chase.

He waved and blew me a kiss as I was dragged into an empty classroom. Oh lordy...

Chase's P.O.V

I paid the lady at starbucks the money and held both mine and Scarlett's coffee's and her muffin in my hands.

I got back in the car and handed her what I bought. She took the chocolate muffin and bit the corner of her lip, eyeing it. Then she looked at me. "A bit un-healthy aint it?"

I mentally rolled my eyes. I gave her a blank look, making her cheeks heat up. "Just eat it." She nodded and started eating it.

I put my coffee in one of the holders and carried on our journey to school.

I stole glances at her as I drove. She stared out of the window at the scenery and picked little pieces off of the muffin. A small smile grew on my face as I watched her.

A car came swerving infont of us and I quickly grabbed the steering wheel and dodged it. Okay Chase, pay attention to the road.

Suddenly, Scarlett's eyebrows knitted together into a frown as she turned to me. "You didn't get any food for yourself." She pointed out and I shrugged. "Doesn't matter." In all reality I wad starving. But I only had enough change for what I bought, so I decided that Scarlett needs the muffin more than I do.

Her frown deepened and she bit the corner of her bottom lip. She held out the muffin to me. "Here." I shook my head but couldn't supress the smile that was planted on my face.

So, she does care for me.

"Nah, it's alright."

I parked in the school car park and turned to her. I held back a chuckle at her. She still had her arm held out to me, offering me her muffin.

"Just eat it." She copied me and I finally just took a piece. She smiled and hopped out of the car.

I quickly follwed her. As I watched her walk away, I couldn't help but admire her. She's so amazing in so many different ways.

And I couldn't help it anymore.

I grabbed her arm and spun her around. I crashed my lips down on hers and kissed her. Surprisingly,  she kissed back. I closed my eyes and hers did the same. Her arms wound around my neck and mine went to her waist. The whole of the school was watching but I couldn't care less.

I pulled away, breathless. Her lips were incredibly soft and smooth. I rested my forehead against hers and grinned. "Scarlett Ryder, will you go on another date with me?"

She laughed lightly and nodded. She pecked my cheek and we started to walk off. I interlinked our fingers and swung them between us as we walked. "Sorry about the kiss, I just couldn't help it." I apologised honestly.

She giggled and looked up at me. Then froze. I stares at her wide eyes, did she just giggle?

Admittedly, that was very cute. But Scarlett Ryder giggling? That's like me wearing a bright pink polo shirt with 'Peace for the Rain Forest' on it.

Which is never gonna happen.

She gave me a stern look. "Don't ever mention this again, to anyone, ever. Again. Okay?" I nodded as we reached a shocked Marielle by her locker.

Marielle muttered something to her and grabbed her arm. She pulled Scarlett away and Scarlett turned to wave at me.

I laughed and blew her a kiss as Marielle pushed her into an empty classroom.

Pfft, girls.
