"JAKE, MIA, GET DOWN HERE PLEASE!" My dad yelled from downstairs. I sighed and made my way down the stairs, Jake pushing me because of my slow pace. When we reached the bottom of the stairs, we heard out father, patting the couch in the living room. Jake gave me a skeptical glance as we sat down next to our father. "So kids," He said, eyeing both of us, like we had just robbed a store. "Yeah?" I said, crossing my hands. "I'll be going on a business trip in three days, and it will be in Canada."
He said, giving us a sheepish look. "Oh no!" groaned Jake. We knew what this meant. Liv. She was our "business trip babysitter." We hated her more than we hated math class. And that was a LOT. When she came over, she would lock herself in the guest room, blast Katy Perry and FaceTime her boyfriend. When she was forced to come out, she would put pop tarts into the toaster, and tell us that was what our dad wanted us to have for dinner. We weren't dealing with her again.
"I know you guys are thinking of Liv..." My dad said taking a deep breath, knowing she was going to California for collage, which meant she could still babysit. "But know that you guys are almost 14..." He stalled. "I'll let you guys stay here without her." Jake and I jumped up, yelling and bouncing on and off the sofa. When she came, the only show we where allowed to watch was "Curios George" and let me tell you, it was terrible after binge watching three seasons of it.
"But, there are a few rules you two have to follow." He added sternly, but we could see the sparkle in his eyes. "No parties, drugs, sex, blah, blah, blah!" Jake said, still jumping on the sofa. Sometimes he really acted like a three year old. "Yes. And one more thing." My dad said, almost in a whisper. Jake finally settled down, sitting on the sofa.
"Brandon, Hunter, Ashton and Weston will be staying with you." My mouth fell open. "YAS MY BROS!" Jake yelled, he went to the same camp as all of them for the past four years, and they where his best friends. My dad turned to me. I tried to smile, so he wouldn't know I was beyond nervous. "Yay..." I said. "Weston asked me to ask you out to Ice cream tonight so you can get to know each other." My dad said, knowing Weston was my favorite celebrity ever. I blushed and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "He will be here at 8!" My dad yelled as I was running up the stairs.
I looked at my phone. It was 7:00. "Time to choose a cute outfit." I said as I went through the outfits. Knowing me, this would take a long time, so I set an alarm for exactly 8:00, hoping Weston might be a little late. I tried on gowns, sweatpants, pajamas, bathing suits, I was so nervous I didn't even know what to try on. I finally decided on wearing a shirt dress, which fit my body perfectly, and was a stunning maroon color.
I put on my gold necklace, and my white converse and was ready to go. While running down the stairs, I threw my hair into a surprisingly neat fishtail braid. My phone buzzed as my 8:00 alarm went off. "Oh god." I whispered, putting my phone into my Vera Bradley wallet. The door bell rang.
