Chapter Seven

Jack
I woke up with a small figure in my arms. Vivian. She was curled up next to my torso. I sat up a bit but heard a light mumble. Was she awake?

Vivian's heart began to speed up and she began to tremble. Nightmare. I tried to wake her up but nothing worked. I turned on my lights and rushed back to the bed. I picked her up and placed her in my lap. I was holding her really close so she woke up less alarmed by her surroundings.

After about five minutes her eyes shot open and she tried to get away from me. I held her close so she couldn't. Then she realized it was me and rapped her arms around my neck. Her heart rate started to slow down. She was calming down.

"Viv, look at me."

She sat up and looked at me. Her eyes were puffy from crying.

"What was the dream about?"

She laid her head on my shoulder and took a breath.

"Theo was doing something to me."

"Like?"

"Something only people you love should do."

My breath hitched. No. Anger flooded my body.

"Don't do anything Jack, we promised Vivian."

"Trying to fight it."

I got it under control and Vivian was staring at me curiously.

"What happened to your eyes?"

"Got mad from what you said. My wolf tried to go downstairs and kill Theo."

She nodded and laid her head on my shoulder again. I felt her heartbeat soften as we sat there longer. She had fallen asleep.

I woke up searching for something. There was a cold spot.

"Where is mate"

I sat up straight and looked around the room. The bathroom door was closed and light was coming out from under the door. I stood up and knocked on the door.

"Viv, is everything okay."

No answer. I touched the handle and it was unlocked. I rushed in and she was laying in the bath asleep. I snickered abit.

"Vivian."

"Hmm."

"You fell asleep in the bath."

"Oh." She whispered

"I'll leave you to get dressed. Don't fall back asleep till you get back to the bed. Okay."

She nodded. I walked out and sat on the bed and waited.

A few minutes later she walked out. She laid face first on the bed.

"You okay?"

"I don't want to wake up."

I laid back and snickered. She laid her head on my shoulder and scooted closer.

"You cold?"

"Mmhmm."

"You need to eat. Come on."

A light growl erupted from her chest when I tried to get up.

"Did you really just growl at me."

"Yes."

"Im serious, we seriously need to eat."

"I will bite you if you try to get up."

"Sure Viv, sure."

I stood up really fast and sat on top of her.

"Try to bite me now."

She smiled for the first time that I've seen. I smiled back.

"Food. Now."

She rolled her eyes and we walked downstairs.

"What do you want for breakfast?"

She shrugged and looked away from our gaze. We walked by the basement door and she stopped. I turned to look at her but she was running up the stairs. I followed and caught up to her as she opened our bedroom door.

"What's wrong sweetheart?"

"Are you tricking me to go downstairs so Theo can take me."

I was so shocked that she would think that i went speechless. Terror came upon her face.

"Vivian I would never give you back to Theo. Ever."

She had a few tears slip out before she slammed our door. I put my ear up to the door and she was sitting right on the other side of it. What have I done.

Vivian
We walked downstairs to get some breakfast even though it was 11:45. I passed the basement door and realized. Theo had to be down here somewhere. My mate was going to hurt me to.

I sat against the door and cried.

"Sweetheart. I will never let anyone hurt you. Please let me in or I will unlock it. Please don't make me do that."
I stood and opened the door a little. He looked relieved and concerned.

"Promise me you won't hurt me Jack. Please promise me. Theo would never promise when he was nice to me. Please promise me."

"Sweetheart I promise. I promise to protect you, keep you from danger, and love you to the end of time."

I opened the door more and he hugged me. I hugged back. I felt safer in his arms.
