I was in a happy polyamorous relationship with my girlfriend and, well, a vampire. To make a long story short, I was mad at him. So I had donned all the sterling silver I owned, which included a tongue stud, labret, and a plethora of bracelets. He was substantially alarmed to get burned as he was reaching for my wrist. Now he won't get within five feet of me.
"Rowan!" Tobias barked from the living room, "I require your assistance!"
I sat in the kitchen, watching her wash dishes. I propped my feet on the table and clacked my toes together.
Rowan threw her towel on the counter and set her arms on her hips. "You know, you could help him instead if you just got over whatever happened between you two."
"Yeah, I gue–"
"Rowan!" Tobias wailed.
"I'm coming!" She walked out of the kitchen to help him, pushing my feet off the table.
I trailed after her to find out what Tobias needed Rowan's bail on. I leaned against the archway, arms crossed. He was sprawled in front of the TV, clutching the DVR to his chest.
Rowan stood over him and pulled a greasy rag from her back pocket. She threw it at him. She always had something up her sleeve or tucked away in her pocket to throw at someone, whether it be the cloth she used to clean her hands after putting oil in the car, or the business card she picked up for later. "How many times do I have to tell you not to move the damn DVR?"
"Cut me some slack, I'm 832 years old,"'Tobias moaned, rolling onto his back.
"Put it back." Rowan shot me a glare.
My body quivered with stifled laughter as I shook my head. He could never understand technology.
She kneeled beside him and helped him sit up.
