Chapter 1: Strange Happening's (teaser!!!) (coming soon in 2016)
The sea waves crashed against the crumbling, dark castle walls. The wind howled through the sky, ruffling the small creatures ratty hair as it passed by. Once the sun had gone down and the moon had risen, it was time for Lisbeth to be at one with her true form. The white light of the moon crept across her hollow face, while she gazed over the stormy sea, looking out onto the woodlands of the mainland. She mulled over her options on how best to escape the castles confinements, whilst being undetected by the Royal Guards. It had to be done now as she knew this chance might not happen again.
Lisbeth eventually took her first steps onto the window ledge. She tested her weight and the bricks gave out under her bare feet. She plummeted at a rapid speed through the sea air and squeezed her eyes tightly closed waiting for the stun of the icy water beneath. However, she didn't fall to her death. Instead she was hovering a meter or so above the murky water. She released a laboured breath and her muscles slightly unclenched, but she didn't feel safe. Her brain suddenly started to go into overdrive at her current situation. Her eyes searched wildly for answers, but there was none. It felt as if her body reacted like a defence mechanism. Lisbeth's ear's picked up loud shouts coming from beyond the castles' walls and she knew they had found her cell empty with several guards knocked unconscious. She had no choice but to drop herself into the icy sea and swim to shore.
Lisbeth pulled herself along the damp sandy shore, her body was trembling with coldness, it felt like it was seeping into her bones. Her eyes wandered around her darkened surroundings and could see the outline of the forest she has previously spotted from the caste walls. Then she remember the guards, who were probably on boat's already searching to drag her back.
With a heavy sigh she pushed up off the ground and unsteadily got to her feet. She couldn't believe she had survived the swim to the beach and thought surely she should be dead by now. Her head was filled with dread and uncertainty, but she knew anything would be better than staying in prison for the rest of her living days.
She took her first tentative steps in the
direction of the forest and started on her journey into freedom. Unaware of the dark figure watching her every move along the shoreline. It mirrored her movements.Yet would this new found freedom come at a price or was Lisbeth about to embark on one hell of an adventure of self-discovery?
