When I was born, I was given a necklace. It was this weird turquoise necklace with half of a unique shape on it. Basically, my parents said that my true soulmate had the other half, and one day when I'm ready I'll be able to find them easier with this necklace, without pain, breakups or anything. I didn't quite understand it since I was young, but now, I have just finished college and I'm starting to wonder whether the necklace was real. I wear it everyday, and sometimes for some reason I feel it get really hot when it's like 50 degrees, but it was probably just my body heat.
My name is Emily Deters, and I'm on the look out for my soulmate. After graduation, I headed into a coffee shop and ordered a latte. The guy there was super nice but suddenly my necklace got incredibly cold and I could feel it since I was wearing a v-neck. When I sat down, I felt a shadow cast upon me. Looking up, I saw a tall handsome guy staring at me. I was hypnotized by his looks. "H-Hi?" I stuttered.
"Sorry, my bad wrong table." He cringed when he saw me and left. I stared back down at my latte. I'm never good enough for anyone. Sigh. I stood up, deciding I wasn't in the mood anymore and tossed my latte. I felt my necklace go cold again, and went home a bit upset over nothing.
When I got home, my housemaid Lana greeted me as usual with a plate of fresh chocolate chip cookies, I forced a smile, but said no thank you. I wasn't in the mood for eating anything. I turned and went up the stairs into my room. It was even messier than my hair. (I assure you that my hair is like homeless styled.) I plopped on my bed and scrolled through Twitter on my phone.

Hi!! I'm not sure about this story, but I actually got this idea from a post on Instagram about the necklace. I know this chapter is like really, really, reallyyyyyy short, but just think of it as a prologue.
