Alarm

Do you ever have those mornings where you only had like 6 hours of sleep yet you're jumping with energy? That's how I felt the next morning. Bailey, however was literally the exact opposite.
"Oh! My! God!!" I grunted with each time I tried to pull her out of bed. "Get up, Bailey!! Our flight is in an hour! We should be at the airport already!" Bailey grumbled but slowly crawled out of bed. After 15 minutes of her curling her hair and complaining about how tired she was, we were in the car and zooming to the airport.
"Hi! My name is Emily and this," I pulled Bailey to the front desk who was gawking at a nearby dog. "is Bailey. We were supposed to get a flight to Tokyo last night but the flight was delayed. So, we're here for our flight at 9am."
The lady was typing away, nodding at what I said. We received our boarding passes and quickly went to security with Bailey close behind thankfully.
At security, there was no line. Oh my god, we are so lucky today, I thought. Until...BEEEEEEEEEPPPPP!!!
"AHH!! What the hell!!"Bailey yelled. The guards started to walk towards me with serious looks while I had a confused and innocent look. I looked around frantically and saw guards surrounding me with guns ready at hand. I could barely breath I was so scared.
"I-what's going on?!" I managed to say.
"Mam, our x-rays found a firearm in your bag. You and your friend will need to come with me," one of the police officers commanded.
"What?! I swear I-" But I was already being handcuffed and dragged away. Bailey wasn't being arrested but simply made sure that she was coming. I kept looking around as if I was looking for someone but there was no one that was going to be there for me but Bailey.
"So...Ms. Deters. Our x-rays found a small gun loaded in your luggage. Care to explain?" The boss officer asked intriguingly. I was speechless. I was trying to think back to anytime I had left my back unattended and I couldn't think of any! I finally found my voice and managed to say something.
"Sir, I honestly have no idea how that weapon got into my bag."
He seemed to believe me so he asked," Well, any suspects you think would put it in your bag?"
I thought hard. Perhaps Brian? We hate each other but I'm not sure he would do something like that. Sure, he's a player, and smoker, and tons of terrible traits but even he wouldn't do something like this.
"I'm sorry sir, I can't think of anyone." He looked at me long and hard. The tension in the air was unbearable. I looked away and the tension broke. My necklace went warm. He nodded and motioned Bailey to come forward. She was trembling in her seat.
"Ok, so it says here that you are Emily's friend, correct?" He asked. Bailey nodded shakily. "And do you remember seeing a gun in Emily's bag this past week, or perhaps her acting strange?" Emily shook her head. The officer stood up. "Morris, I think we're done here. These girls don't look or seem like the type to do something like this. Of course," he turned to me. "I'll be taking the gun. Try not to leave your bag unattended again." He looked back and forth between Bailey and I. "You may go whenever you are ready."
We left immediately. "OMG Em! What happened back there?! Who put a gun in your bag?" Bailey exclaimed. She looked quite frantic. I checked my phone. Shoot.
"We missed our flight, ugh!!" I screamed internally as I plopped onto a chair. "Why the hell does this keep happening to us?!"
"Em...you don't think, someone's trying to sabotage us...and then kill us, do you?" Bailey said nervously, biting her nails.
"Seriously, who would do that? We don't have any enemies anyways!" I countered. Bailey shrugged and sat next to me. A long and awkward silence.
"So...when's the next flight?" Bailey asked trying to break it.
"I don't know, let me check," I answered. I pulled out my phone and opened my United International app. I groaned. "It's not until tonight! If this keeps happening we won't be able to make it to the show tomorrow night!" I quickly scheduled the flight and we just sat there for a while. "Want to grab something to eat? I'm starving."
"Oh my gosh, yes! I want sushi," Bailey licked her lips in hunger. I laughed.
"Ok. How about over there?" I point. "Lets go to Sushi Bar!"
--------------------------------------------------------------
"Hello, welcome to Sushi Bar!" A waiter said with a Japanese accent. He did a quick bow. "Party of 2?" He looked at both of us.
"Yes," I said, giving a polite smile.
"Right this way." He led us to a table near the window where we could see everyone in the airport. We opened our menus and quickly found what we wanted.
"Em, what are you getting?" Bailey asked.
"Classic Udon. What about you? Let me guess, California Rolls?" I said.
"You betcha!" She did a weird finger snap and pointed at me. I laughed but then I saw her face expression change. I tilted my head in confusion. She whispered in a nervous kind of way. "Don't look now, but I think one of our old friends has come to eat at Sushi Bar too." Despite what she said about "Don't look now,"I turned my head slowly to look at the table adjacent to the table next to us. My eyes widened in shock.
"No way...I thought she was dead or moved to Texas or something!" My voice trembled as I looked back at Bailey who looked shaky as well. "I-it can't be..."
"Well whatever it is, she's back now," Bailey said. We were both still staring at her when she turned and looked at us with a mischievous grin. There was no mistaking it. It was her.
