Chapter 12

"This is disgusting!! Really? Do you have to? Please don't do it again, it was bad enough first time. I come along to eat my lunch and now I feel like puking! Ugh"

Aaron took a breath "And for goodness sake he only started here yesterday" he said now talking only to Izzy.

I thought it was a joke and was just about to laugh when...

"Bloody hell Aaron, over-reaction much?" Izzy almost shouted whilst standing up to face him "What's wrong with a kiss hu??"

"Jesus! Calm down. You're the one that just had your tongue down his neck!"

They went off on one then. Both near to shouting.

I really wasn't expecting this! So I just sat there. Listening.

The last thing said was from Izzy: "Just because you can't get a kiss from the person you like! And I know she won't kiss you. Alex would never want someone like you."

Those words hurt him, anyone could tell. Izzy definitely hit below the belt.

Then they both sat down in silence facing away from each other, I didn't dare say anything.

I was relived and worried when Alex came back. More relived. I had been sat in a massive awkward silence for about five minutes now.

"Hey guys, I'm sooo happy! I got my essay done so no more work for me!" she was radiating happiness I could feel it, shame this situations gonna ruin it. "You've all got to come round tonight, dress up nice and that?"

"You wear dresses?" I asked distracted

"Hell no! Well we'll scrap the dress up thing, you all coming round yeah?"

"Um... I don't think we can" getting back to the situation in hand, both Izzy and Aaron "mm-hmm-ed" basically saying they're not coming

"Oh okay, anyone gonna get food with me?"

"Yes!" I sounded way too egger but didn't care.

As we strolled to the sandwich buffet I said "Alex there's a big problem with Izzy and Aaron"

"Yeah I know, they just don't really talk too each other but neither of them try so I just leave 'em"

"No, not that" I stopped and faced her. She looked confused. "They had a fight"

"What? Tell me what happened" so I did; the kiss, the fight, but I changed the last bit - I told her Izzy just said 'Just because you can't get a kiss from the person you like!'

I don't know if I should have told her the truth but I didn't.

"Oh" was her only reply

"So what are you gonna do? Look at them-" they were still facing away, both with cold faces "-help them"

"Right, I think I know a way but..." she looked doubtful

"Try anything, you don't know how horrible it was sat between them"

"Ok, but... it will only work if your not there, you know like to calm Aaron and not get you any more involved, sorry"

"That's fine I'll go sit with Selena. Just one thing, does this happen often, you know Izzy kissing someone... then Aaron says something and they start yelling?"

"No. I was so surprised they even talked without me there. And no she doesn't kiss every boy she finds." Alex smiled then walked back to our table to hopefully get a truce.
