Chapter 4 - Part 1

As I said that we got into college and rushed into the assembly. I sat down and before it started I opened the letter.

It was from my dad.

Then everything went silent as Miss Watson (the head-teacher) came onto the stage and I shoved the letter in my bag without another glance.

She started off with a speech on how the year was going so far that no one cared about. Most people were probably looking at her, like me, and thinking did you chose to wear that outfit or were you short on clothes so you wore your curtains.

Then she carried on saying "And now to talk about the transferring of students I introduce Bob Hartley" and everyone stared clapping (me and Aaron only half heartedly).

"Thank you Miss Watson. Now to start this off a recap of what is to happen." He looked behind him at the board that showed his presentation "First, twenty students will leave this college" he paused as everyone was talking about the shocking change of ten to twenty. He raised his voice then said "Yes twenty pupils will be leaving. I have the list here-" he waved a piece of paper about "-so if you would be kind enough I would like silence." As he said it it was as if no one was here it was so quiet.

"Thank you. So in alphabetical order I will begin." I was only hoping not to hear three names: Aaron Samuels, Izzy Barnes and mine (Alexandrite Lakewood).

"Duncan Alfred, Zackary Arnold, Patsy Barnett, Sam Clayton, Kate Edwards, Isabel Farrow, Zoe Gooch, Rick Hughes, Kristy Jay, Eleanor Kane, Luke Morgan, Leanne Moharra, Steve Omera, Mark Portlock, Lara Randall, Ash Robinson, Jack Smith, Naomi Tongs, Tom Taylor, Lily Wentworth." He said every name twice for clarity.

When he finished I could jump up and kiss him on his bald head I was so happy. None of us are leaving!

It was funny (for me) as we left the assembly hall, because none of my friends were leaving and many people (including Izzy) were upset and even crying as there friends are going to leave.

"Yes! We're staying and Lily's going!" Aaron yelled as he high-fived me.

"Yeah it's gonna be great."

We were really hyped up so as we had the rest of the day off Aaron, Izzy and I all went to the cinema to watch the latest horror film. Ironically it was called 'Leaving'.

The fantastic film was about... um, well it didn't have a very good story line but it was jumpy and had loads of blood and gore. It was a great film for someone like me but not so good for Izzy, she was fine when we went out for pizza afterwards but I did have a very scared Izzy phone me up at 2 o'clock in the morning saying 'I'm not watching another horror film ever'. But she always does, in the end, want to see another one. Stupid really.

Saturday morning I woke up with loads of stuff on my bed. I had the book I was reading called 'Night Luck', my phone, my ipod, my bag and some coins. I must have been really tired to go to sleep with all this random stuff on top of me.

After I got changed for work, I put my stuff away and rummaged through my bag to get my lip-gloss and found the crumpled beige letter.
