"Come on Helen, the kids are already in the car and we must miss the morning traffic if we want to keep on schedule”, the father of the family, Robert Frost, announces to his wife as his kids, Jacob and Caitlyn have already entered the vehicle. The Frosts have decided to travel up to the Gold Coast to visit Sea World, by car.
After travelling for 4 hours the family is now the only car to be found in a hilly region surrounded by nothing but grass plains, when all of a sudden the car receives a terrible jolt and the back right wheel falls off. Since this comes as such a surprise Robert loses control of the Ford Territory and leaves the car swerving into a nearby fence surrounding the road. Quickly the family scrambles out of the car, making sure no one is hurt and luckily everyone is fine.
Jacob starts to sniff quite violently as he tries to decide what the smell is. “Oil, I smell oil, quick move back, NOW!” The whole family backs far away from the car and duck, just in time for it to explode into the air.
“Are you actually serious?!?!” the youngest of the family, Caitlyn, yells into the air while kicking the grass they have jumped onto. “Now Caitlyn, don’t be like that if we just follow this road I’m sure we will find a town or something, okay?” Helen tries to reason with her daughter.
“Kids, your mother is right let’s start walking unless you want to sleep on the grass”, Robert adds to persuade the children.
Jacob and Caitlyn just nod and shrug as the family set off down the road with whatever they could rustle up out of the wreckage.
After trudging along for what seems like forever Jacob sees rooftops and small shops come into view over the hill they are trekking.
“Hey look! That looks like a town.” Jacob yells at his parents and sister as he uses his last ounce of energy to run towards the buildings. The rest of the family just smiles and runs after the boy.
Once they reach the town Robert notices there are no signs of life. No people, lights, sounds, nothing at all. “Oh no, this is just a ghost town.” Robert informs his family with dread.
“Ghost what?” Little Caitlyn inquires to her dad.
“It’s a ghost town, which means there is nothing here. It’s been abandoned.” Helen fills in.
“Then what are we supposed to do now?” Jacob asks with frustration.
“Well I guess we just-“Robert is cut off by the loud honking of a horn.
Everyone looks over to the road and sees a tour bus. They all rush over to it as the door opens revealing a friendly looking man.
“Need a lift, you look lost?” A British voice fills the air as more faces appear.
“Oh my gosh! ONE DIRECTION?” Caitlyn screams out just before she falls into her father’s arms. She’s fainted.
