Liliana was almost at her destination. She stopped away from skull island, when the Shadow blocked her path!
"What do you want?" She asked.
"To make a deal with you. You are shaping the future of this island that Pan has the illusion that he owns. I want you to at least do it right. When you get that key unlock Captain Jones's cage along with his crew, in the night. I'll make sure everyone sleeps soundly. Take them back to their ship and give them this."
He handed her a scroll, that looked old and dusty. She began to open it before he stopped her.
"No! That is a prophecy. Give it to Jones and he can use it as he wishes, stay with him and direct him along the right course. You'll be my eyes and ears and every night I shall come to speak with you." He said.
"And why would I do as you tell me?" Liliana asked, holding her knife tight in one hand and the scroll in the other.
"Well for one I am a shadow so that knife will not hurt me. Secondly this is your only chance and having your brother back."
"How do I know there is any saving him?"
"I guess you'll just have to trust me."
Liliana nodded and held the scroll tight. She had a mission and she was ready.
Wendy woke up, noticing that her head was rested on Pans lap. He had dozed off, leant against the tree. She could hear him breathing softly. He looked so beautiful, so innocent and vulnerable in his sleep, he certainly wasn't two out of three of these when awake. Some of the Lost Boys were missing, she assumed they were lurking the forest, perhaps entertaining themselves until everyone else was awake. She couldn't help but think about how different things were in this world to her own home. Less strict, yet so much stricter, entertaining yet less fun. The things that she had enjoyed at home were things that would be scoffed at here, such as reading or playing pretend or cooking or drawing or even dressing up and pretending to be Peter Pan. How wrong she had been about him made her both want to laugh and cry. He was so much better yet so much worse. Every time she looked at him she shivered, she was terrified of him. How unpredictable he was, how dark he was but most of all she was terrified of how her heart leaped whenever he was near how the look of him made fireworks go off in her body and how he made her breathe so heavy. Something about him being so dark, so unique, so unpredictable excited her and made her only want more.
The sun was getting higher now and the birds had begun to sing. Peter Pan's eyes fluttered open.
"What the hell is that awful noise?" He snapped.
Wendy laughed softly. "It's the birds singing."
"Birds? Singing? They don't usually do that." He was blinking slowly, trying to make sense of the world around him.
Why wasn't he in his treehouse? Then he remembered the girl that had fallen asleep on his lap. Wendy. He looked up at the Goddess who perched in front of him. How lucky he felt to have her look at him the way she did, with such happiness, hope and hunger - for breakfast, of course.
"Wendy, can you come and talk to me for a second? In the forest, where no lost boys could see us." Pan asked.
Wendy nodded, smiling innocently.
She followed him into the forest and then he stopped and stared into her eyes, looking deeply as though trying to find hidden secrets.
"What?" Wendy asked. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I'm trying to figure out if you're a siren or something evil." He said softly, pushing her chin up with his hands and looking at her.
She pushed him off her, though she didn't want him to let go of her.
"Why would I be a siren? I've heard about them and they turn into a mans or woman's greatest desire. The most beautiful person they could imagine, perfect in every way."
He laughed softly. "Exactly."She took a step back, trying to piece together everything he had just said. Was he flirting with her? This cold hearted monster? Or was he simply concerned, did he find her that attractive. No. He was just messing with her, she had to stop being so naive.
"Why did you want to talk to me?" She asked, trying not to show any emotion in her voice.
"I don't know. I just felt like I had to talk to you without the lost boys crowding us like dogs wanting affection." He admitted, chewing on the inside of his lip.
Wendy noticed that he was shaking slightly.
"Are you cold?" She asked.
"No. I don't get cold." He said arrogantly, crossing his arms over his chest protectively."Then nervous? What are you nervous about?" She asked, softly.
"I'm not sure, it could be anything. My sisters missing, the shadow appears to be keeping secrets from me and you are the most beautiful girl I've ever spoken too." Pan said, looking into her eyes deeply as though looking for something in there. As though trying to read her emotions.
Wendy blushed bright red. "W..what about your s..sister." She stuttered.
He sniggered. "She looks a little too much like me."
Then he moved towards her a little more and smiled. "I've decided to let you and your brothers go. You are an official lost girl."
"Oh."
"What do you mean oh? I thought this was what you wanted!" His smile began to fade.
"I wanted to leave this island Pan, to return to my family." She admitted, moving away from him.
"Why? Your home is so boring and you are unhappy there, I know that you long for adventure. I can give you adventure, this place can give you adventure."
"I know but I love my parents."
He thought for a moment. "I'll let you free then, but only if you stay with me a little longer. There is things I want to show you, places you need to see."
She smiled and nodded. Of course she wanted to have adventures with Peter Pan! No matter how dark his heart was, at least she knew that he had one. They started each other for a moment, it was a silence but it wasn't awkward. Wendy was admiring his features and beauty and Pan doing the same. He adored her chalky white skin and forest green eyes. He loved a strangely, dirty blonde hair but most of all he loved her smile. A bright smile that he had just seen for the first time. She had a look of serenity and happiness.
"Have you ever been kissed?" Pan asked Wendy.
Wendy looked shocked to his question, it made her stomach act like a washing machine, whirling around and around.
"No." She said truthfully.
He moved closer and put his hand on her left cheek.
"Well you see, I'm a lot older than I look. I'm not 16 but over 500 years old. I had a son once. I kissed many times over. However I have been a child now for century's, so I'm a little rusty. I don't suppose you could tell me if my kissing skills have gotten worse? Be as judgemental as you like." A true smile was on his face now, not the usual smirk or wicked grin but a smile.
Wendy felt so many emotions at once that she couldn't think straight, her vision began to blur. She was nervous, excited, cautious, happy and something else. Something she had read about so many times but had never felt in this way. She was in love.
He placed his arms around her waist and as if in slow motion, he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. It was like nothing she had ever felt before, warm, beautiful and bittersweet. She loved every moment but a voice kept on shouting from the back of her head
'To kiss a monster is to be a monster!'
And she was truly terrified. Kindness and heroism was something she treasured. Yet this was something so much more. It was like throwing away Christmas to save Santa some money. She just couldn't.Meanwhile Liliana was handing Captain Jones a prophecy that would change the fate of everyone on that island and would force people to make terrible decisions. A prophecy that would shape every person on this islands future. And Pan felt it, the prisoners escaping and the betrayal of his little sisters
