Authors note- so sorry it's been so long since my last update, I've had really bad internet and I've been really busy! I will try to update daily again for now on! ❤️

The wind was so cold and so strong that Pan could barely keep his feet on the ground as he spoke to his closest Lost Boy and friend Felix.
"Escaped? All of them!?" Pan scowled.
"We don't know how it happened Pan."
"Who was on duty that night? Whoever it was I want them both questioned, I want to know how 47 prisoners escaped right under their noses and they didn't notice it or think to sound an alarm!" He shouted.
Felix took a step back, nobody was stupid enough to answer Pan back when he was angry like this. Nobody except one.

Wendy skipped over to Pan, she was in a fairly good mood and couldn't wipe the soft smile from her face.
"Peter! You'll never guess what John did, he climbed..."
Before she could finish Pan grabbed her wrist and held it so tightly that Wendy let out a squeal.
"I DON'T CARE ABOUT JOHN!" He exclaimed, making her flinch.
All the lost boys near by turned and stared.
"Let go Peter you're hurting me." Wendy said, her voice breaking.
His face softened as he looked at her face. She looked scared, upset and beautiful. Pan couldn't help but feel guilt and he never felt guilt, he let go of her arm.
"Go away." He said slowly.
"I can't believe you Peter!" She spat, before turning and storming off.

Pan noticed all the lost boys staring.
"Go find something else to do! All of you!" He shouted.
All of them except Felix quickly walked out of sight,
"Want me to go check on the girl?" He asked, looking at him suspiciously.
He often wondered if Pan cared about that girl more than he cared to admit.
"No." Pan said coldly. "Leave her to rot if that's what she pleases. Why should I care about this girl if she doesn't do as she is told like the rest of you? She acts like an enemy then we treat her like a prisoner. She knows that already."
Felix nodded and walked off into the dark forest, though he still wasn't convinced that Pan felt so cold towards the girl.

Meanwhile Wendy found herself running into the forest, getting deeper and deeper as she wept. Had she really been so foolish as to imagine that he might of cared for her? Loved her even? And why did she feel so strongly about a demon, a monster? Still deep in thought she bumped into a man that she recognised, dressed all in leather, smelling strongly of rum and seeming to be deep in thought.
"Jones?" Wendy gasped, he was supposed to be locked up.
He looked down at her and smiled, a true smile. She wasn't sure if her eyes were deceiving her but he looked relieved.
"Wendy Darling!" He grinned.
Then he looked down to her wrist. It was bright red and already going slightly purple.
"What happened to you, love?" He asked.
She snatched her arm away from his prying eyes and put her hand in the pocket of her dressing gown to conceal it.
"Nothing, how did you escape?" She said, wiping the tears from her red and blotchy eyes and trying to look respectable as her mother had taught her.
"I don't believe for one moment that it is nothing" he sighed, "still, I won't ask you about it if you don't want to tell me. We've all suffered deeply because of that monster!" He said.
Wendy knew that he was speaking of Pan and she knew that she was the cause of all her pain and suffering yet she couldn't bring herself to call him a monster.

"There is something I was given by Pans sister. She said the shadow gave it to her." He said, touching the scroll in his pocket.
"What sort of thing?" Wendy asked curiously.
"A prophecy that the shadow believes would come to pass. My crew believes it will too."
"And do you believe it will come to pass?"
Hook paused and looked at Wendy softly. "I do."
"Can you tell me what the prophecy is?" Wendy was very curious now, the way he looked at her was so deeply, like he was looking into her soul and reading her thoughts.
"It's about you Wendy. The prophecy states that you will be the one to kill the monster." He said.
Wendy gasped. "I don't believe you."
The monster, she knew that meant Peter.

Hook handed Wendy the prophecy.
'When the sun sets on a windy and cold day, jail bars will break and float away. Blonde beauty will steal heart of monster that lurks and controls the night, she will all the while hold his life in her hand - so tight. Captain shall lecture and beauty shall venture till knife meets chest and monster meets his maker.'
Wendy felt her body shake. She didn't want to kill anybody, especially not Pan! No matter how much of a monster he was.
"No!" She shouted. "I can't."
Hook took a deep sigh. "But you will Wendy, fate has been written and there is no escaping. If you want to make his death quick you better train with me. Meet me at midnight tomorrow eve, in this very spot."
Wendy thought hard, she wouldn't come, she couldn't. Yet somehow she knew that she would come, she'd always spoke of wanting to be a hero and here was her chance.

She walked slowly back to the camp, the words of the prophecy spinning around her head. The poem seemed to of burnt into her brain.
'Blonde beauty shall steal heart of monster'
She heard footsteps and this was the sentence that jumped into her head.
Sure enough there was the monster himself.
"Wendy! I've been looking for you all over." He said, moving towards her and  picking up the arm that he had hurt earlier, gently.
He ran his finger over the purple marks .
"I promise you I'll never loose my temper like that at you again! I don't know what came over me Wendy."
They looked at each other deeply, she could feel their heartbeats beating in unison. Like they were one person for a moment, until Wendy looked away. She tried to feel anger towards him, he was a horrible person and she was strong.
"You're a monster Pan." She muttered.
He sighed and touched her face. "Then let me be your monster, I know that you love me the way I am. I see it. You love the monster in me."
"Maybe I do, but he has to go." She said sadly.
"Then I'll do my best."
He leant in and kissed her pale cheek, that instantly went pink.
"Sleep in my treehouse tonight, it's cold outside." He then said.
He was right, the wind was freezing and made goosebumps cover her body.
She nodded and took his hand, snuggling into his warm and sturdy body. She felt safe and warm with him, yet his words reminded her terribly of the prophecy. She had to meet Jones at midnight, she had no other choice.
