Voodoo, Mon Amour is a great (though, not yet completed) story on Wattpad, if you are looking for a story about an independent demon-hunter. November is one of the only female hunters in 1867 London. After a series of murders and public shows of demon power, she will have to fight even harder to keep evil from entering the streets. (She even has a knife-proof corset!)
I really liked the first few installments of Voodoo, Mon Amour. It has a Supernatural-type vibe, and after a few years of watching the show, there is no doubt about how this story drew me in. The action is very well written; Novemeber comes off as ruthless, but she still cares about London and the people in it. She fights demons to keep the people safe. The characterization is great. Every detail about the characters is shown, not told to us, and the characters have depth and problems and consequences that they have to act upon and react to--something that can be difficult to find amidst the millions of one-track fanfictions on this site.
SerialArtist593's writing is very sophisticated and does not lack for detail or suspense. The timing is such that almost nothing is rushed, yet everything happens of its own accord. I gave her story an 8 due to the spelling mistakes and typos (though there were few) and some instances when scenes changed too quickly for my taste.
This story is certainly refreshing, with a new, original plotline. I would recommend it to anyone (and everyone) who is looking for a new spin on evil. I will definitely be waiting for SerialArtist593 to update!
