* This is the second part to the "Don't Want This Night To End" story. Hope you enjoy. Also this is inspired by the sequel song to the first titled Drunk On You by Luke Bryan. You should check out that song.
Y/N = Your Name
BP = Batting Practice *
Bryce's POV
Its been two months since I saw Y/N and at every game whether its home or away I leave a ticket for her, hoping that she would pick it up and I would get to see her again. Today the team and I have an away game against the Giants at AT&T Park. I told the ticketing office to place a ticket under both her name and mine just in case she were to show up. I walk back into the visiting locker room and grab both my helmet and bat for some BP. As I got up to the field, my teammates; Werth, Revere, and Turner, came over to me.
"So any luck yet with your girl?" Turner asked.
"If you are asking if she has gotten any of the tickets I've left for her, the answer is no." I say looking at them.
"Are you even sure she will come to get the ticket? Did she show any sign that she would come?" Werth asked.
"She seemed interested and that's all I can go on." I say honestly since she did seem interested two months ago.
"It just seems like a waste of tickets man." Revere said to me.
"I have to try. What if I stop leaving a ticket and she shows up? Then it seems like I'm not interested when I am." I told them.
"We support you Harper, just make sure she is worth it." Werth told me before the three walked away.
I thought about what they said, especially what Werth said and I knew she was worth it. She was like a drug I wanted or an alcohol I was drunk on. I finally walked over to the cage and started my BP. I did about ten hits, most of them going to the deep part of the field or into the stands. I walked out and went back to the locker room. I grabbed my phone to see if anyone came for the ticket since they were going to let me know and so far no one has come. I put my phone down right when the rest of the team game in. We had a pregame speech given to us by the coach then we came out for the game. We all got in a line as the announced both lineups and started the national anthem. After the anthem it was time to play ball.
Y/N POV
Its been about two months since I saw Bryce and let me tell you it has sucked that I haven't been in the same area as his games. After that night I left D.C. and went to Florida, then to New York, then Texas, then Nevada. You might be thinking that I must have a bunch of money if I've been to all those places. But let me tell you, I don't. I travel in my car across country, only staying in places for a few days unless something happens. Currently I am in California, San Francisco to be exact and I heard that the Nationals are playing the Giants! This is the chance that I have been hoping for in order to see Bryce. I got to AT&T Park early but stayed in my car until there were a lot more people. When it started getting close to game time, I got out of my car and walked over to the ticketing booth. I told them I was here to pick up a ticket. When they asked about the name I thought Bryce would put it under his name so I told them the name. Luckily I guessed right and was given the ticket. I went into the park and made my way to the seat. I was lucky to find it just as they announced the starting lineups and right before the anthem. The anthem finished and it was time to play ball.
The top of the sixth inning was just starting and the Nationals were down 2-0. The lead-off man (who just so happened to be the start of the lineup again) got on base due to a single. The next batter struck out. The batter after that got on base due to a walk. Now it was Bryce, and this was exactly what we needed, 2 runners on with only 1 out. Bryce got up to the plate and took his stance after he drew a cross on the plate. He looked at a curve-ball that just hit the back corner. On a 0-1 count he took a ball making the count 1-1. The next pitch was also a ball making the count go to 2-1. On the next pitch Bryce swung and pulled it foul making the count 2-2. I don't know why but I knew this next pitch was going to be the pitch he would really swing on. The pitch came and it was a fastball down the middle and Bryce took advantage of it. He swung hard and made contact with the ball and it soared over the stands into the bay! He hit a 3-run homer! I cheered along with the other Nationals fans. We were now ahead and it was great.
~Time Skip~
The game ended and the Nationals won 3-2 due to Bryce's home run. I got up along with everyone else and I looked at the Nationals dugout hoping to see Bryce. I finally got sight of him talking to a teammate when both Bryce and his teammate looked in my direction. I wasn't sure if Bryce was looking at me or not so I just gave him a small smile and walked away. Hopefully I will be able to catch him before he leaves.
Bryce's POV
It was in the sixth when it was my turn to bat again. When I got up there we had two on and one out. I watched the count get to 2-2 when I knew the next pitch was mine and I was right. He threw me a perfect fastball down the middle of the plate and I just drove it into the bay. I was able to help my team take the lead 3-2. I knew we were gonna be able to hold onto the lead and I was right. It became the ninth inning quick and before I knew it the third out was called and we won the game. We shook hands with the other team and made our way into the dugout. I was talking to Turner right by the dugout when we both looked over to where the ticket seat I left was and I couldn't believe it. There in the stands was Y/N, she came. I saw her give a small smile and leave and I knew I had to see her. I went to the locker room and grabbed my stuff quickly before I made my way out to the stadium entrance. I looked around hoping to see her when I finally did. She was leaning against the fence on her phone but she quickly looked up and saw me. I walked over to her and finally reached her when she put her phone away.
"California, you're from California." I say when I look at her.
"I'm not from California, thats just where I happen to be" She says looking back at me.
"Well, we are you going to be tomorrow?" I ask looking down at her as I take her hand.
"You tell me" She told me looking up and holding onto my hand.
I smiled and pulled her close not even realizing my teammates were around until the started cheering.
"What are they cheering about?" Y/N asked me while looking at me a little confused.
I laughed and kissed her head "They are just happy that they don't have to listen to me complain about you not being around." I say honestly.
"You talk about me?" Y/N asked.
"Of course. I gotta admit I'm a little drunk on you." I say looking at her.
She smiled at me and leaned into my side. I knew now that I was not going to let her go again now that I have her back.
