Samantha's POV

I woke up at around 6:30 to pack what things I had into my turquoise suitcase. Today was the day me and my brother would be getting adopted by a nice couple from the country, they lived in some forested area. They said they couldn't have kids and wanted some, they adopted me and my brother, we were a package deal. I shoved my last skirt into the bag and went to wake up my brother. I walked in his room and immediately regretted it, it looks like a hurricane hit in here. " What a slob!" I quietly muttered under my breath. "JASON!!!" I screamed hoping not to really enrage the beast that lay sleeping. " Get UP" I growled out. Yes, you read that right "growled", well what do you expect from a 16 almost seventeen year old Soul-Shifter, shifter for short. I bet your wondering what a soul shifter is, well Soul-Shifters are people who when then want can shift into any animal form they want as long as they have seen the animal they are trying to shift into before. The forms I can shift into are cougar, horse, cheetah from this time it was at the zoo, dog-any breed I want, house cat, wolf,hawk, and bear.My favorite form is my wolf form though, it was the first form I shifted into. I never told my brother what I am, I'm pretty sure he's not a Soul- Shifter too so I didn't know how he would react if I told him, sooooo I didn't tell him. My brother, that reminds me---

Okay so back to the task at hand "Jason Louis Marshall, get your butt up right now or I swear on all that is good in this world I am going to pour ice cold water all over you" I threatened casually.

"I'm up!I'm up!" Jason said groggily as he shot up in his bed. " Just please don't poor ice water on me"he pleaded.

"Okay I won't but you better get that lazy self of yours up, out of bed, and dressed. Then you better pack all your stuff up, remember we are going to be getting taken to our new adoptive family today. So behave and be ready when we have to leave at one this afternoon." I told him calmly.

"Thanks Sam" he replied using my nickname from when I was younger.

"For what?" I asked. I had no idea why he was thanking me.

'Maybe it's for being an awesome older sister who is always there for him' spoke mentally my inner animal Rose.

'Maybe' I replied to her.

" I mean thanks for being there for me when our parents gave us up at the orphanage and being a great sister" he clarified. Oh. Wait isn't that almost exactly what Rose said. I swear she is so intuitive.

"Your welcome, and thanks for being there for me to Jason." I genuinely meant. "Okay, I'm gonna go for a walk in woods I'll be back in about two hours.K?"I asked. I really wanted to go for a run probably in my wolf form.

"Yeah. But be sure to be careful sis I am sure I saw a wolf out side the other day" he warned.

I had to hold in the giggle that so badly wanted to escape.He saw me in the woods the other day so I was sure I was safe, but he can't know it was me so " Okey- Dokey Jason I will be careful " I told him. I left his room and walked out into the cool, crisp winter air. I walked for a while past the tree line before I couldn't be seen, and then shifted into my way-larger-than-a-normal-sized-animal wolf form. I had luscious pure white fur that reflected a few rays of sun that made their way through the thick evergreen canopy.

I started sprinting to my favorite spot, a crystal clear lake that was teeming with life, even now in winter with snow on the ground. I slowed down to as I watched the blue lake come into view.

I stood at the side of the lake peering down at my reflection on the water top. I really was beautiful in my animal forms. I layed down and soaked in the sun for a while.

'Its almost been two hours since we left' Rose said.

'Oh' I muttered. I started on my trek back. Arriving in record time I quickly shifted back, my clothes still intact. I rushed inside to see if Jason had packed yet after all we leave in 3 hours. I arrived in his room to see 3 surprisingly neatly packed suitcases, and one very tired looking Jason. "Hey, Jason. All packed?"I asked.
