Chapter 8

Samantha's POV

I woke up to the sun shining into my face, groaning I got up knowing that I would be in trouble if I was late to school. I wonder why my alarm didn't go off, whatever. I hopped out of bed making sure to grab a towel, and rushed into the bathroom for a quick shower.

Drying off I ran into my closet and got out some skinny jeans, my undergarments, and a Cookie Monster hoodie. after getting completely dressed I rushed downstairs to see that it was 7:35.Sandra and Matthew already left and Jason was already taken to schools, I really overslept, why didn't any one wake me.

Seeing as I don't have a car, I decide I'm going to have to shift and run to school. I walk outside into the cover of the trees and quickly shift into my fastest form, cheetah, I grab my backpack in my mouth and rush toward the school. Surprisingly I get there at 7:41 I have 4 minutes to get to class, I shift back grab my backpack and run towards the doors.

Taking a quick stop at my locker I grab my books and get to class just as the bell rings I walk to where I sat yesterday to see that the seat is already taken by , Ashley, but I think better than to start another fight and walk over towards an open chair near the windows. Mrs. Knight tells us that we are going to be drawing again today, anything from nature that we want and that it will be due in one week for a grade.

Wondering what to draw I look out the window, to see a blue bird on the window perch, I decide to draw him. looking back to the window I see that he is staring right at me, and then I hear him talking to me. Wait he's talking to me! 'Rose, how come I can understand that bird if I'm not in the form of a bluebird?' 'It must be one of your gifts' oh one of my gifts. One of my gifts, what gifts, oh I'll just ask later.

Wait the bird is talking me to me I feel rude for not replying, I tune back in to him asking me what I'm doing, so I respond by saying I'm drawing because he's very handsome. He replies with a cocky remark and I just silently continue to draw when the bell goes off.

I gather up my stuff and make my way out of class, passing Summer and telling her I'll see her during lunch.

The rest of day went by with nothing interesting happening, I met my history teacher, he told the best story of how this one time he had one of his old students pretend to shoot him, to see if the class could give good witness statements as part of a lesson on justice they were doing, he got in a lot of trouble but I couldn't help but to laugh.

I finally had gym and was sad that none of my friends were in any of my classes except Summer is art but that's it. Even Xavier isn't in my gym class, but Ashley is. Her whole aura bothers me. When the teacher told us we were doing dodgeball I hoped I'd been the team opposite her, I don't want to lose because she is unable to play because "she might brake a nail". When the coach, who by the way is a wolf, split us into teams he made one side all wolves and one side humans, well except me but he thinks I'm human.

Those wolves won't know what hit them when they lose. Twenty minutes of sweat later and me and two humans were all that were left on my side while all of the wolves were out of the game and putting on pouty faces.

When the game was over, we were dismissed and I went to the locker room to change. As I walked out of the locker room I grabbed my stuff that I got from my regular locker before gym just so I could leave right away, and left through the buildings side door out towards the forest.

As I was just fifteen feet from, the tree line just thinking of Xavier I heard feet behind me. Turning my head I saw Xavier, strange think of your mate and he shall appear.

"Hey Sam, Can I call you Sam?" he asked walking in pace beside me.

"Uh, sure you can, so why are you following me?"

He got a sheepish expression "Well I was wondering why you were walking towards the forest it could be dangerous"

I lightly chuckled he's so cute, how he's pretending he's not a wolf that could be one of those dangers in the forest.

"Well I'm walking home though the forest because it's a. nice out and b. because it's not like wolves are out in the forest looking to kill me and eat me, or any other animal for that matter"

When I said wolves he looked kinda startled it was really kinda cute.

"Well, I'll just walk you home to make sure that you stay safe then we will both be happy"

I sighed "Oh okay" when really me and Rose were just jumping with joy on the inside.

The first ten minutes were spent in a peaceful silence before Xavier asked me if I would want to go to his house for dinner later and I said of course.

A couple minutes later I couldn't resist my urge or Rose's for that matter to kiss him, he is my mate I really wanted to feel his lips against mine. He was shocked for a moment before he started kissing me back and pushed me up against a tree but before it could get any more heated I heard a twig snap 3/4 of a mile away, Xavier hadn't heard it because my hearing is more sensitive then his. I pushed back and Xavier stepped away looking a little hurt that I pushed him away.

I nonchalantly turned my head that direction and took a whiff just to make sure it wasn't another rogue, but guess what it was, and if I told Xavier that there was a rogue he would go all protective mate mode but I had to put safety first and now that we kissed I feel I can trust him so I'm gonna tell him what I am after we handle the rogue.

"Xavier I think there's a rogue in that direction" I pointed where the sound was "And before you ask questions, mate, safety first lets go handle the rogue, and then we'll talk at my house, no I'm not human so let's go before anyone ends up hurt"

He looked angry then mad then hurt then angry again, but before he could say anything I shifted into my wolf and used my head gesturing or him to shift too. He did but looked at me with a hurt and awed expression. I rushed to where the rogue was, luckily it was only one, and used my shifter power and ordered her to shift in her head. She looked startled but did any way I shifted back and stood up, fully clothed. She was naked and covered in bruises and scars all of which looked new and old, she didn't look to be more than 15.

"Why are you trespassing on another packs territory?" I asked trying not to sound to scary she looked like she was abused.

"I-I I ran away f-from my o-old pack because they h-hurt me, I just shifted and ran as far as I could then you found me here"

Xavier still in wolf form looked a little mad that a pack had done that to a girl so young.

"What's your name?"

"Rachel"

"Okay, Rachel my mate over there won't hurt you, I promise" I said shooting a look to Xavier " I want you to come back with me to my house and we'll get you cleaned up, k"

She nodded and I shifted signaling she do the same and we all ran back to my house.

I am so so so sorry I didn't update when I said I would I had really bad writers block, I mean really bad like I thought of an idea and then realized it was sucky so I am sorry I took so long to update. By the way my history teacher actually did that one kid actually ran and jumped in a garbage container. I wasn't there otherwise I would've loved to see that.

Now I wonder if Rachel will join the Blue Dawn Pack(Xavier's)? Have a mate?(you can guess who her mate will be)

Again sorry of the late update enjoy next chapter will be intense. Just a warning.also this chapter could be better but I'm tired because it's like1:00 in the morning right now and please comment what you think o the chapter.😃
